This auction is for a 1980 vw rabbit with a 1.5L diesel engine, it was inherited to me from my uncle who has owned it for over 20 years and he was the second owner.The auction is a no reserve listing and will be sold to the highest bidder! Runs and drives great.All in all this car is solid and will Last many miles/years.Well kept and maintained.Lots of mechanical work done.No grind's or slippage in clutch when shifting,Motor is healthy and pulls great.The choke switch works great. Besides the paint which was redone in 05 and various mechanical parts,this car is original, even the headliner is in great shape.2 molding strips from drivers side to to be re glued,the molding strips are included.No rips or tears in the upholstery. The flaws are minor, the dash is cracked,it drips a little oil but im not sure where it coming from,it doesn't appear major.cv joins starting to click but not always.shakes when brakes are applied at high speed.The passenger side rear window has trouble rolling up and down.The heater works sometimes and sometimes not,i assume its the heater switch. All lights,turn signals,windshield wipers work.The am/fm radio works.The tires are almost new,maybe driven 1000 miles at the most,vehicle needs alignment.No cracks in glass.There is some minor rust/pitting in trunk and lower rear rocker panel/fender (see pics) Floor boards,frame and everywhere else is rust free.Body is almost perfect,couple minor dings but nothing major,no real scratches. Receipts for the maintenance of vehicle will go to new owner Some work done includes the following, Motor was Completely rebuilt in 2011 New Bendix mater cylinder. Rebuilt diesel fuel injection pump and new injectors in 2011 Alternator,starter, water-pump,brake shoes have lifetime warranty from local auto parts store. Fuel filter and oil/oil filter changed 30 miles ago, Ignition switch replaced a year and a half ago Repainted in 2005.Almost new tires.New spare tire.
