Up for auction is a very RARE 1968 Ford Torino GT convertible Indianapolis 500 Pace Car restoration project. Verified with a Marti report that this is a VERY RARE Torino, with only 709 built. This is a barn find complete restoration project that has been sitting parked for over 27 years.Have bill of sale for owner buying from original selling dealer in 1971. Breakdown is 302 v-8 ( 1of 511), Auto. trans. ( 1 of 496), power steering, AM Radio, power Parchment top ( 1 of 24 ), and FR 70-14 Radial white stripe tires ( 1 of 1 ), 91,000 miles, complete car intact. All emblems present, GT rims with trim rings, all interior present--seatbelts, sunvisors etc., bench seat car ( 1 of 219 ), Uphostery poor to fair, top and carpet shot, dash pad faded but not cracked, windshield cracked, windshield trim is nice, all side glass good and rolls up & down, decent floors, some rust on both frt. corners by cowl, has inner rocker rust, 3 good torque boxes, rear frame rails are solid from shackles forward, some rust at gas tank, frt. corners in trunk floor, both lower rear quarters have rust, left side is worst. Frt. inner fenders are solid, core support is solid with minor rust, front fenders have rust as well as hood. Good news is 68 & 69 share the same sheet metal except Fastback decklid and parts are easily obtainable. Engine starts and runs, trans. shifts but no brakes or exhaust due to length of time sitting in storage. This car must be hauled, trailered or rollbacked. CAR IS SOLD AS-IS, BUYER MUST PICK UP CAR.
