Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is this beautiful fully equipped, original condition (with a few sport upgrades), high desert Chevrolet Custom Sport Truck pickup. Delivered to the COD garage in Minden Nevada on February 9th, 1970, this truck has spent all its days protected in this very dry climate. We have the original factory order sheet that is in great condition, and all the receipts for all the work that has been recently done. Still sporting the original dark gold and white two tone paint, you will not believe how nice this 53,137 original miles truck looks, runs, and drives. 350 V8 Engine. Original numbers matching 350 4 barrel engine. Professionally rebuilt to a conservative 345 HP (with receipts). All brand new high performance engine internals have been blueprinted and balanced. The heads are upgraded all new nostalgic 1969 double hump camel back heads, and support a very nice, era correct, factory original GM 1969 Z28 Aluminum Winters casting intake manifold topped with a brand new Holley Street avenger carb with an electric choke. The engine starts and runs perfectly with awesome power and a great deep tone. Automatic Transmission. The Stock Turbo 350 Hydramatic transmission has been completely rebuilt by a local mechanic. The transmission shifts quickly, yet not harsh, and works like new. The strong 12 Bolt differential was serviced with new fluids, and works great. Power Steering and Brakes. Brand new brakes, wheels and tires. The new 15 X 8 rallye wheels are paired with huge 275/ 60 R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTS tires. The brakes have all new springs, pads, shoes, etc. They are progressive and very strong. The parking brake is also strong and holds the vehicle very well on any hill. The tires have incredible grip, but also ride smoothly at any speed. The effortless factory power steering makes the truck easy to handle and fun to drive. Body and Paint. The beautiful and shiny paint is the original dark gold and white two tone. No body work has every been done to this truck. There is absolutely no rust of any kind anywhere. The undercarriage is all original and is very very clean. Minden, NV was good to this frame and body, and it is obvious it was always garaged. There are a few minor dings and such, and the grille and front bumper has a few larger dents, but overall, the body and paint are in incredible shape for a truck. There is some sun fading on the hood and the trim, and the dash pad is cracked, but even the seat cover is all original and in great shape. Trim Package and Special Features. This truck has the very nice and highest level trim available in 1970. The Custom Sport Truck package (CST) is the SS option of the truck world, and fits right in with the popular 1970 Chevelle SS or Camaro SS of the era. This package came with the same high compression 350 V8, 12 Bolt differential, power steering, power brakes, soft headliner, full foam seat, woodgrained soft door panels, chrome trim all over inside and out, a cargo lamp, lower woodgrain and tailgate moldings, two tone paint, full carpet, and an upgraded dash with all the factory gauges. Everything works as it did when new, and the truck drives like the day it left the showroom. Air conditioning. Equipped with the super rare factory Air conditioning, all the switches, levers, vacuum controls, ducts and associated wiring are all brand new and completely restored. Since the freon was drained when the engine was installed, the truck still needs the compressor installed, and a brand new compressor and dryer will come with the truck if desired. These AC units are very strong, and easily cool the vehicle in any weather. Tool and storage box option. The bed is in great shape and came with the highly desirable wooden bed floor, and an even more rare and desirable factory tool and stowage box under the right side of the bed. This storage box is in great shape, and has plenty of room for all kinds of gear. The optional wooden bed floor is all original, and is in remarkable shape. Exhaust, Heating, and Engine Cooling. The new 2 ½” custom dual exhaust is mandrel bent all the way from the factory rams horns high performance exhaust manifolds, through an H pipe into performance mufflers (for a great throaty sound with no drone), and over the axles into chrome tips. The truck also has a brand new 4 core radiator, heater core, fan clutch, hoses, belts, high volume water pump, thermostat, etc. The heater and defroster work perfectly, and the truck runs right at the cooler mark on the gauge, and has never shown any sign of overheating, even in hot weather and heavy traffic. And the gas tank, fuel pickup, sending unit and all rubber hoses are brand new for worry free driving. The auxiliary tank was removed. Sound System. The truck has a new Sony high quality I pod and satellite radio ready sound system, with high end speakers in the doors. The radio sounds great, and looks good in the dash. The dash pad and gauge bezel are all original and are weather cracked, but these are easily available. Well, that about explains everything we can think of, and we’re hoping the truck makes it to a good home. We have receipts for all the work and upgrades, and everything is documented and professionally done. The truck has a clean NV title and the registration is current. This is a truck that is ready to go anywhere, day and night, and would make a great addition to any collection. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions. This truck is being sold as-is without warranty of any kind, expressed or implied. ore we had compact pickups, we had full-sized rigs like this 1969 Chevrolet C10 stepside. The closest thing to a sports truck at the time, it packed musclecar horsepower and heavy duty utility into a compact, attractive body that is so popular that automakers are still building stepsides today. Finished in bright red, this truck is a five-alarm fire all by itself, and the workmanship is outstanding. Short wheelbase, regular cab, with a stepside bed is perhaps the most attractive combination on an early pickup, combining the modern cab with a very retro-appearing bed. With bulging rear fenders and fat tires underneath, the truck has a sporty attitude, and the near-flawless red paint only enhances an already awesome look. Yes, the paint really is as nice as it looks, with outstanding prep and no signs of rust repair underneath, and if you want a truck that attracts attention, this is certainly it. All the panels line up well, the doors fit properly, and the bed sports what is possibly the most perfectly-applied spray-on bedliner I’ve ever seen. There’s also a matching polished toolbox mounted up by the cab, which ties in nicely with the diamond-plate rear bumper. Black cloth and vinyl replace the original all-vinyl interior, and it helps soften the truck’s blue-collar image. It’s also a lot more
