Vehicle Detail
I'm selling a 1971 Chevy Blazer. I recently bought this from a young man that was headed off to Brazil. It was a local (St. George, UT, dry desert climate) truck and has been for the last 15 years. It has very little rust, I noticed a very small spot at the front of the passenger floorboard, that's it. He had said the engine had only 11k miles on it. It has a 4 speed manual transmission, and a 205 transfer case. The truck has been parked since 2007, I had it towed home and have not driven it. I did dump some gas in the carb and hooked up a battery and got it to start. I have drained all the old (orange and very smelly gas out of the tank) . I tried to run it off a gas can with fresh gas and once the fuel pump started pulling the fuel it just started leaking out of the carb everywhere, so the carb will need rebuilt for sure. It has a Carter AFB carb and Holley hi-rise intake. It has power steering and power brakes with disk brakes on the front. It has 15x8 rally wheels with all the rings and centers, I bought a set of used tires to put on it that will go with it. They are nothing fancy, just 235/75 15 all terrains with about 40% tread. I also have both door handles, both rear marker lights, a chevy center console that needs some work. It has both front seats, the passenger seat mounts (what bolts to the floor and allows the seat to tip forward) is missing, the rear bench is there, not bolted down. When I bought this the top was off and since I am not really that familiar with Blazers I didn't realize the windshield header was just a cut version off of a truck cab. I still can't figure out why I didn't spot it since the windshield frame is black on the bottom and white on the top and clearly welded together in between. I believe the doors and hood are off the same truck, which leads me and probably you to believe this truck at some point has been upside down. The young man I got it from said it was like that when he bought it 15 years ago and he had always just run it with the top off. You can see the top is not sitting directly on top of the winshield it is just sitting on there to keep it inside my garage. The top has no windows or rear hatch. I have already found another top piece of the windshield that the blazer top will bolt to. the windshield would have to come out and the pieces cut and rewelded. It will be included for the new owner. I think with a carb rebuild, some fresh fuel and a new battery this could be a driver, as long as you don't mind going topless. The rollbar in the back doesn't appear to be attached to anything. It also has almost brand new dual exhaust from the manifolds back, I say almost new,(it's not even discolored) because it still looks new, but was probably done 5 years ago. I have a clean Utah title in hand. I only bought this truck to put some cash in this young mans pocket for his journey to Brazil, I'm going to start this out low and hopefully recoupe what I gave him. If it doesn't sell I'll probably look into having someone turn it into a half cab pickup for me, but I'd rather just have it out of my garage so I can pull my new escalade back in.
