Vehicle Detail
I have up for sale, my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 2 Door Coupe. It has been my daily driver for a while, and it is time for someone else to give it a good home. It has served me well. I have spent a lot of money to keep the car on the road. I purchased it from a co-worker who was the original owner- most of the mileage is highway from family trips between Connecticut and New York. Features: Power Steering with Adjustable Tilt Wheel, Windows, Door Locks, ABS, and Traction Control Factory Keyless Entry and Alarm System Cruise Control AM/FM Stereo with CD Player Dual Front Airbags Automatic Transmission 4 Cylinder, 2.4 Liter engine Cloth Interior with Power Driver's Seat Power Sunroof Front and Rear Fog Lamps Rear Spoiler Now, keep in mind this car is 11 years old, and has spent its entire life in the Northeast, so it does have some problems. They are, however minor. THE GOOD: Everything works as it should, with some exceptions (as noted below) No engine leaks, drips, oil burning, or cooling problems Transmission operates smoothly throughout all 4 speeds, no clunking or hard shifting Brakes are in good shape, the front brakes were done not too long ago, and the rear drums were replaced about a year or so ago Tires are in good shape, all 4 match, and have plenty of tread left Vehicle has no check engine or other lights, is current on Connecticut Emissions, and will not have a problem passing emissions or inspection in other states Interior is in nice condition, no rips on any seats, floor mats are included RECENT WORK The fuel pump in the tank was replaced at 159,000 miles. This included the pump module complete with strainer, new float for the fuel gauge level, and new fuel filter(s) both inside the tank and the one outside the tank. The fuel lines and injectors were cleaned and inspected. The fuel pump and float are ethanol resistant, so the fuel gauge will continue to work for a long time. New battery and battery cables were installed along with the fuel pump. The battery is a Carquest maintenance free type just like the OEM battery. At around 157,000 miles a complete tune up was done. This included all new plugs, new ignition coils and the ignition coil housing. and new coil on plug boots between the housing and the spark plugs. The front struts and springs were replaced this summer at approximately 155,000 miles. The front brakes were replaced and the fluid was flushed and filled at 153,000 miles. New dashboard pieces were installed to replace cracked ones. The radio was repaired and everything on it works correctly. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles since new with Valvoline oil. I have kept on the same maintenance schedule as the original owner, and I use the Valvoline High Mileage oil. THE BAD: Being a Northeast vehicle, and 11 years old, the car has 2 rust spots, and I have included pictures of them, on the rocker panels by the door on the driver and passenger side. The passenger side has not perforated, but the driver side has perforated- the spot that has perforated is about 3" or so. The front bumper could use to be repainted. The air conditioning will not hold a charge. The dealership said that the there is a leak in one of the hoses. I chose not to have it repaired. The remote trunk release is not working, the switch on the driver side door needs to be replaced for it to work. On the instrument panel, the lenses over the gauges are a little loose, but nothing major. The dealership says this is age related. The gauges work properly and you would never be able to tell that the lenses are loose unless you are looking really hard. This will make a good, safe daily driver for the new owner, and with minimal expenses. I have been driving this car daily and it drives and rides just fine. I have 3 keys and 2 remotes for the vehicle. Anyone can come and see the car and drive it around my neighborhood prior to bidding. I am happy to deliver the car to a shipping terminal, but all arrangements for shipping are at the buyer's expense. I HAVE IN MY HAND A CLEAN CONNECTICUT TITLE IN MY NAME. Please ask any questions, I am happy to answer them. I am keeping this auction short and hope to have the vehicle sold before the new year. My price is in line with the expectationof a quick sale.
