1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible Here is a cool old classic convertible driver. Original Ford 289 cubic inch motor runs and drives strong. Original two speed automatic transmission shifts as it should. Original interior is still in decent shape. Thea seats have no rips are are still presentable. Carpet is newer. Dash has some darker areas as do the door panels but both are presentable as a driver. Everything works including the lights, blinkers, wipers, horn and courtesy lights. The original radio was replaced with a AM/FM cassette player that works. Power top works great. Newer top that is in very good shape. Also has a newer convertible top boot. Original paint is thin, dull and faded. there is evidence of past body work behind both rear quarter panels. OK as a driver but car does need paint. Chrome and trim is all there but here again driver quality. Both bumpers are also original with pitting and some rust. I do have a decent rear bumper that I will include with the sale. The floors look to be decent with the exception of a thin area ender the rear seat. The trunk also has a few thin areas along with several past patches. The frame also has some thin and rusted areas (see pictures). I have been driving the car this past fall with no issues but it will eventually need some attention (re-enforcement/welding) in a few areas. The glass is all good with the exception of a BB chip in the front windshield. The tires have plenty of tread left. I have priced the car to sell as I want the garage space back before the snow flys.
