1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertible ALL ORIGINAL You are bidding on a 1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertible with a V-8, 389 cubic inch motor and a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission. The 1965 Pontiac Catalina is arguably one of the best "big" Pontiacs of the decade. This Catalina was manufactured at the General Motor Plant in Pontiac, Michigan where the first Pontiac was produced and named after. This car was originally purchased brand new in 1965 by a close friend of mine from Haydocy Pontiac in Columbus, Ohio. It was garage kept most of its life and well maintained by the original owner. I purchased it from him in 2002 with just over 82,000 miles. The odometer reads 92,937 miles today. This Catalina is all original with matching numbers. It wears the original Fontaine Blue paint and has navy blue on light blue interior. I had a new convertible top installed in 2003 and also had the convertible motor replaced. The car starts right up the first time every time and runs great. The Catalina does have a few spots of surface rust on the exterior, but is in overall good condition. The interior is in great shape. The convertible top does have difficulty closing by itself. Once the top is lifted a little, it closes the rest of the way by itself. It is not used often, so it may need lubricated. There are 2 smaller spots of rust in the trunk (as pictured).
