1964 Impala SS Convertible Up for sale is my 1964 Impala SS covertible. It is a REAL SS convertible. I bought this from a gentleman outsdie of Charlotte NC, and drove it home (3 1/2 hour road trip). It is very reliable and would drive it anywhere. This car has a rebuilt 327 engine (250hp). It has an Edlebrock intake and carb. It also has the expensive billet aluminum air cleaner and valve covers. I think it looks very nice. The car has Power steering and Power brakes. I have done nothing to the car, except swapping out the 14" factory tires for a set of Dayton type wheels. It has a very nice look to it. The car has NEVER had hydraulics or anything like that put on it. The car shifts very nicely and it would not surprise me if the transmission had been rebuilt too. I had put the car on my lift and was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the car and the lack of patch panels common to these cars these days. The trunk pan bottom has been replaced at one time, but that is very common and they did an excellent job. I do not recall any other panels or patches. I did not take pictures, as I did not expect to sell the car, and I currently have my son's 69 Charger on the lift with the front suspension removed, making pictures impossible. Anyway, the rest of the body is in good shape except for one rust hole behind the passenger door, common trouble spot for convertibles and bubbles starting on the same spot behind the driver. The rear driver rear corner looks like some work may have been done in the past, but its hard to say. The current yellow paint is the original color and is starting to fade and craze, revealing the original yellow paint underneath. The chrome and stainless trim is all there and in decent shape. The front bumper has the option grille guards. This car ALWAYS turns heads when on the road and trips to the store. I have driven it a half dozen times to work and to the store and always get stopped with offers to buy or someone talking about how they use to own one. This is a good driver and a low #2 or high #3 car. The interior is in GREAT shape. I even just had the interior pillars, and convt. header area powder coated to give it that crisp GM semi gloss look to make the interior look perfect. I did have it bead blasted first and powder coated the correct color. It looks awesome (not put back on yet, since I got it back last week). The console works as it should, and the interior just looks great. The interior is just as it was when it rolled out of Detriot in 64'. The carpet is begining to fade in spots and is the only thing I would swap out. The glass is in great shape as it should be. The top works, although it need an assist to get it to pull down. The latches are in great shape and so are the sunvisors. This car is complete and well taken care of. This is NOT one of those "project" cars that were slapped together from 3 or four other cars. It is complete and original. What can I say, but this is a great car to drive around town. I was planning on painting it soon, so the color did not matter to me. One patch panel, and some paint and this is a sweet ride!!. I do not have a buy it now. So if you want this car, then bid like you want it. There are not many affordable, original 64 SS verts these days, so don't regret that you did not bid. I do require an immediate $1,000.00 deposit upon winning the auction, via pay pal, and full payment with 3 days. If you cannot comply or do not have cash, please do not bid. Please note how nice the quarters are on this car. When is the last time you have seen nice quarters like this ? I had forgotten how nice this car was. Also the shock tower bracket is in outstanding condition as well. Please look carefully at all pictures I just uploaded.
