Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1955 Nash Metropolitan! I originally bought this car from Pick-a-Part Auto in Los Angeles in 1998. I was told it was part of an estate auction and coming from a wrecker the vehicle does have a "Salvage" title. In order to get the car road worthy in LA I did acquire a smog, light and brake certificate. From 1998 - 2000 the car was registered and I drove it all over the San Fernando Valley as my weekend driver going to car shows and running errands. In late 2000 I started work in Vancouver BC and relocated up here permanently in 2001. This vehicle was transported up to Vancouver on a car carrier in 2001 and has sat in my garage for the past 10 years waiting to be restored. Here's the bad stuff -- The battery went flat 2 years ago and I have not started it since. One of the front wheels has locked up (brakes or bearings I do not know) and it makes pushing the car around very difficult - it is currently on wheel skates in my garage. The car would need to be towed from its current location. Here's the good stuff -- This car is SOLID. no rust on the body at all. All glass is in good condition. Hubcaps, glove box liner, taillight lenses, taillight bezels and centre "Nash" emblem are all new. Tires only have 8k miles on them. Although the carpet and headliner are gone all original trim and sill plates are there. I do have my State of California Certificate of Title which I will sign over to the new owner. In my opinion it wouldn't take much to make this into a good little runner. It just needs some TLC that I cannot afford right now. Any questions please email or call - 604 828 951 - Ask for Steve. Or if you would like to stop by in person and look at the vehicle call to arrange a time.On Nov-30-11 at 20:54:05 PST, seller added the following information: Up for sale is my 1955 Nash Metropolitan!
