Recent barn find! This is a very solid "roller" project....1968 Dodge Dart GTS 340. The car is mostly complete minus the engine and transmission. It still has the original hub caps. The car was originally yellow with a black vinyl top, 340, 727 automatic, bucket seats, console, 8 3/4 rearend etc. The fender tag is rusty but intact and I was able to find a nearly complete build sheet. The odometer shows 48,938 which I believe are actual miles. It also appears to have been resprayed once. The hood and right front fender were replaced as you may notice. These two pieces are showing their original paint. This fender will need to be replaced. The car is as stated...very solid... it has a good GTS hood with minor surface rust on the underside and inserts with moderate finish loss but no major pitting, extra front fenders, nice original doors, solid roof, nice inner fenders with minimal rust to the battery tray area, good firewall and cowl, nice frame rails and torsion bar x member, decent deck lid, good glass, decent trim, nice grill (it will need bezels), bumpers that can be re-chromed etc. The 8 3/4 rear end is intact and untouched with some original paint markings. I believe it has 3:23 open gears in it. The front suspension is intact with the original sway bar. The radiator core support is good with some denting and a minor tear to the lower core support. As far as sheetmetal is concerned the car will only need floor pans, trunk pan, trunk extensions and rear lower quarter panel patches. It will also need some very minor patches to the rear deck filler. I am an Auto Metal Direct distributor and will get the new owner the best prices on replacement sheetmetal...if desired. I would estimate the replacement sheetmetal cost to be approximately $1200. I would even offer installation at additional cost. I am very familiar with everyone at AMD including their installation center manager. So please don't hesitate to ask any questions! The interior is rough but intact. The buckets and tracks are good but will need restoring including new foam. The steering wheel and console are decent and the dash frame is good with one hole cut in it for a now missing gauge. The cluster is decent. It is missing the shifter and linkage. The door panels are intact and usable. The car will be sold with a Bill of Sale, transferable registration and a letter from Barrow County Georgia Tag Office stating that a bill of sale ONLY is required to transfer ownership of a vehicle from 1985 or earlier. This will allow out of state buyers to procure a title if necessary.
