For your consideration is a rarely seen 1954 Ford Skyliner Glasstop 2 door hardtop in excellent condition with 80,XXX original miles. This car was built in Dallas, Texas and remained out west until I purchased it a couple of years ago. The car was restored in the mid 1980's following the original color scheme of Cadet Blue with a blue & white interior. The restoration was not a body off restoration but included paint, chrome, interior, engine and trunk detail, correct tires and carpeting. The floors, body mounts, and general sheet metal is excellent. From what I can see, there were only a couple of small patches required on the body when the car was re-done. The car has the original 239 cu. in V-8 OHV engine with a 3 speed standard transmission with overdrive. The car has no power options but does have factory tinted glass. The glasstop itself is as close to perfect as you will find with no scratches or crazing. After the restoration, the car was used primarily for an occasional car show where it received several AACA and Crown Victoria Association awards. The awards will go along with the car. The car was driven sparingly over the next 20 years. The car presents itself very well and the 25 year old restoration is still looking good. The car runs and drives very well. The exhaust is quiet, the clutch, transmission and rear end function properly with no chatter or noises. The car runs in the normal temperature range even on hot days. The chrome and stainless still have a nice shine and the paint has held up well. There is no cracked glass or visible delamination. All of the gauges work but the fuel guage seems to not read 100% accurate. The wipers work fine. All the lights and turn signals work. The radio works but the clock does not. This is a very attractive car that draws alot of attention. I am selling it only to purchase another vehicle. I feel I have a fair reserve based on the rarity, condition and what it takes to restore these cars. The car is not perfect but I do not have it priced that way either.
