I HAVENT HAD HER LONG, BUT I HAD ALWAYS HAD THE DREAM OF OWNING A WESTY, AS I GREW UP AROUND THEM (WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A VOLKSWAGEN/AUDI FAMILY :) AND HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE WESTYS UNIQUENESS AND VERSATILITY. I HAVE MADE SOME WONDERFUL FAMILY MEMORIES SINCE I HAVE OWNED HER. SHE HAS BEEN ON SEVERAL JOURNEYS THROUGHOUT HER LIFE, AND HAS MANY MORE MEMORIES AND GREAT FAMILY FUN IN HER FUTURE. HAD A FULL ENGINE SERVICE ONCE PURCHASED. HAS GOOD POWER AND IS STRONG RUNNING, TURNS OVER THE FIRST TIME EVERY TIME. INTERIOR IN WONDERFUL CONDITION. NO RIPS OR TEARS IN THE FABRIC, REALLY LOOKS GREAT. SUPER CLEAN FRIDGE AND STOVE/SINK, WITH RUNNING WATER SUPPLIED BY EITHER AN OUTSIDE HOOKUP, OR THE WATER RESERVOIR LOCATED UNDER THE CABINETS NEAR THE FRIDGE. POP TOP IN GREAT SHAPE, NO TEARS IN THE CANVAS, NO LEAKS. TOP MATTRESS HAS VERY LITTLE WEAR, AND IS SUPER COMFY AND SLEEPS TWO. BOTTOM BENCH SEAT EASILY FOLDS OUT AND SLEEPS TWO QUITE NICELY. CURTAINS ARE IN PERFECT SHAPE AND PROVIDE GREAT PRIVACY DAY OR NIGHT. INCLUDES MATCHING FRONT CURTAIN THAT COVERS FRONT WIDSHIELD. OKAY NOW THE BAD: ALTHOUGH NO ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN LISTED IN CARFAX, THERE HAS BEEN SOME DAMAGE TO THE LEFT REAR QUARTER THAT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. .NOT SURE WHAT TRANSPIRED, BUT FROM THE LOOKS, IM GUESSING MAYBE A BRUSH UP AGAINST SOMETHING DURING A CAMPSITE NAVIGATION? BUT WHO KNOWS. ITS NOT THE BEST REPAIR JOB, SOME COMPOUND HAS BEEN USED, BUT HASNT BOTHERED ME AS SHE STILL LOOKS REALLY GOOD, AND RUNS STRONG. IF YOU REALLY WANTED TO DO A FULL RESTORATION ON HER THOUGH, THIS IS SOMETHING YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER DOING AT SOME POINT. (SEE PICS) AS I SAID THE INTERIOR IS IN WONDERFUL CONDITION!!! THE ONLY ISSUE IS THE AREA DIRECTLY ABOVE THE DRIVER/PASSENGER SEATS. MUCH OF THE CONTACT PAPER IS MISSING, SUPER CHEAP TO REPLACE AND AN EASY DO IT YOURSELF MINI PROJECT, I JUST HAVENT TAKEN THE TIME TO DO IT AS THIS HAS NOT BOTHERED ME EITHER. OVERALL THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT AND SHE RUNS STRONG AND TRUE. MINOR SMALL DINGS AND BLEMISHES HERE AND THERE, BUT TO BE EXPECTED WITH A VINTAGE 83 WESTY CAMPER VEHICLE. I HAVE TRIED TO TAKE VERY DETAILED PICS TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A GOOD LOOK AT THIS NICE WESTY. It has been so helpful in the operation and overall enjoyment of this bus, information that unless you are an experienced westy owner, you may not know. Includes everything on tips to light the fridge, to what type of oil filter and coolant to use. Will happily include this with the bus. I also wanted to mention that I would not hesitate to drive this bus cross country as is. It has always ran well for me. Thanks so much!!! On Dec-01-11 at 18:45:42 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to add a note about the eckhart bike rack that comes with this westy. I had a very nice phone call from a gentleman in California who is an avid cyclist and asked me more about the rack. Its really a nice feature of the bus, and I wish I could have had a better picutre of it (other than the little you can see in the pic where we are set up at the campground and there is a bike in the rack). It is black and very heavy duty steel frame, as i mentioned could easily support 4 bikes. It is very steady and sturdy as she goes down the road. The rack itself slips into the hitch mount under the front bumper, and then you slide the bolt through, which I bought one at auto zone that locks so nobody can take off with the rack. Anyway, its a great plus that this bus has. Hope I didnt just confuse everyone more :) Also,we are just over half way now in the auction. I just had a thought or two I wanted to add...... The bus is water cooled. Also I forgot to mention that she has newer monroe gas shocks. The marine battery underneath the bench seat next to the power converter, runs the interior lights,microwave,and your in camper power outlet.The extra lights give you much more light in the bus,the fixtures are white and you can see them if you look closely at the interior pics, one towards the front of the cabin, and one directly above the rear bench seat, nice for playing board games or maybe some reading in the evening. There is a switch that you flip that ties the marine battery with the new main battery and charges her as you go down the road. Also light directly above the stove, sink area which is handy for cooking after dark. Slave cylinder from GOWESTY is $84.95. Master cylinder from GOWESTY $54.95. Those are some nice extras, either to hang on to, or EBAY and get some cash back :)
