The History: The 1995 Ford Probe GT first came to us on August 23, 2010 by way of our vast network of auction connections. At first glance we were impressed with her appeal and equipment, right away we took notice to the containment of the necessary elements required to meet our criteria. Evidence of a cared for unaltered Southern climate automobile with great potential made her irresistible. Of coarse she wasn't perfect at that time but we saw something special and with the extensive talent and knowledge at our facility we knew what she could become. Once purchased this Probe underwent an extensive quality inspection and was placed on a list of vehicles to be reconditioned to a show car quality. We were in no hurry to get her to this state, we only purchase vehicles for our inventory that we know don't lose value over time, and as a result there is no need to rush perfection. The Exterior: Upon a thorough review we discovered one Pampered Probe, having lived most of her life in Virginia far away from the ocean air and harsh Northeastern winters we noted a well preserved body with no rust or corrosion of any kind (see photographs of undercarriage and door bottoms). There are no dings or dents, no gouges or scratches in the finish and no evidence of prior body damage. The Black Ebony finish is deep and glossy with no fading and only minor road wear in the likely locations. The finish has been thoroughly reconditioned using our top of the line Meguire's show car detailing products. Our experts did take notice to some minor "crow's feet" on some of the upper surfaces (for those of you who don't know what that is, it's the appearance of minor cracking of the finish in a pattern that resembles a crow's foot impression). Repeated efforts to photograph this condition failed and it's only noticeable under certain lighting conditions. The wheels are in excellent condition with very little evidence of age. All the lighting and lens's are original with no aftermarket modifications and they still appear as new. The flip-up lights work correctly along with the wipers and mirrors. The Interior: Upon entry into our Probe GT you will find an impressive cock-pit that resembles that of a vehicle that is less than 5 years old. She has never been smoked in or abused in any way, there are no stains to be found anywhere, the carpets and headliner are still like brand new the upholstery on the seats is in excellent condition with no signs of wear or age other than some slight fading of the color on the left and right upper side portion of the front seats and the top of the rear seats and seat belts. The dashboard and door panels are in perfect condition with no cracking or fading of any kind, all the interior trim panels are in tact and in excellent condition including the center console and factory cup holder. The shifter and pedals only show minor signs of wear the switches and buttons appear mostly as they would have when new. All the interior illumination works correctly as it should, the windows, locks and sunroof all function correctly, the driver's side power seat operates in every position correctly along with all of the lumbar adjustments. The heating and air conditioning system perform flawlessly along with the rear defroster (every grid I might add). The factory premium sound system works perfectly and is further enhanced by a factory subwoofer and cd player that sounds incredible. The interior is a very nice deep black color with the seating surfaces and door panels having an attractive pattern unlike any other that we have seen before. The factory Ford "PROBE" floor mats are present along with all the manuals as you would have received when the car was new. The Test Drive: Once inside this Probe GT you will quickly realize that this is no meager excuse for a sports car but instead a vehicle designed to inspire a feeling of performance while driving. The Engine starts right up and runs perfectly with a very nice factory exhaust note and no hesitation, abnormal noises, or smoke. Upon engaging her in first gear you will notice the clutch operates as it would have the day it left the factory floor with no slipping or chattering at all. She accelerates smoothly with plenty of power as the transmission shifts seamlessly through the gears with no "slop" in the shifter or syncro's to be detected. The steering and handling is very inspiring and leaves you with the impression that this vehicle is designed to be driven like a sports car with a feel that outperforms even many new cars of today, in addition the suspension performs very well with no abnormal noises. There are no vibrations or wind noises to be detected, the cruise control works perfectly, and the 4 wheel anti-lock braking system performs excellent with no shudder or vibration detected (we replaced front and rear rotors and brake pads). The Mechanical: Distinctive Auto Works has performed a complete and thorough evaluation of the mechanical state of this Ford Probe, our experts have verified and performed all factory scheduled maintenance as outlined by the manufacture given the current mileage and age. The spark plugs were replaced with the factory recommended Motorcraft part number, the spark plug wires are new, the air filter is new, the drive belts are new and the timing belt service will be due at 120,000 miles (this service is included in the maintenance plan, see details). The coolant is still a bright green color and tested as per manufacturer specifications, all the hoses and lines are in excellent condition. Recent repairs include the replacement of the front and rear brake pads and rotors, the right front outer axle CV joint boot (no contamination to the joint was detected), and front and rear wiper blades. All of the suspension components are in excellent condition with no sign of abnormal deterioration or wear. The Yokohama tires are like new with 9/32 tread remaining and they are all evenly worn. There are no fluid leaks of any kind present from the engine or transmission. The Summary: Distinctive Auto Works has concluded that this 1995 Ford Probe GT is undoubtedly at the top of its class in terms of condition and performance.
