A SUPER RARE CHANCE TO OWN THIS BEAUTIFUL 1970 DODGE CHALLENGER CONVERTABLE AT A RARE 5 DAY AUCTION AT NO RESERVE OVER 80 HD PICTURES AND A VIDEO PLEASE LET ALL PICTURES LOAD UP THIS IS A SUPER NICE 2ND OWNER TRUE CALIFORNIA CAR.THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD.IT HAS A BRAND NEW WITH MAYBE 1 HOUR ON MOTOR AND TRANS.THIS IS A TRUE MOPAR'S DREAM CAR. This 1970 Challenger convertible was originally a 318 2 barrel car. About 1986 The 2nd owner swapped out the dash, exhaust, suspension, brakes and so on from a 1974 Challenger Rallay 360 4 barrel car. It now has power front disc brakes, a 727-A torqueflite trans, 8 3/4 rear with 3.23 gears, front and rear sway bars, and pretty much all the good stuff that came with an original R/T car. There is a fully prepped genuine 1970 340 block and heads included. It is bored .040 over, decked, cleaned, painted, has new cam brgs, and the crank is laid. The heads are genuine 1970 340 " X " castings that have been completely rebuilt with stainless steel valves, new guides, dual springs, etc. There is a steel crank, Eagle I-Beam rods, J E pistons, cleavite brgs, and moly rings. The rotating mass is already balanced and the ring gaps are filed. Also included is a Mopar Performance purple shaft cam and kit. There is all new valve gear too. Rockers, shafts, push rods, timing set, and bolts. Basically I have a reconditioned block, heads, and crank, But everything else in and on the engine is new Mopar Performance or other top brand parts. The J E pistons were custom made for me and are slightly dished to give a 9.5 to 1 compression ratio. The actual trans is from a 1971 340 duster and has a B &M shift kit. When I removed the trans it was working well and got a nice chirp into 2nd gear at 1/2 throttle or more. The body is in very good condition. There was some rust in the rockers when I bought it. Also the front doors and fenders had some previous repair that was not very well done.the rockers repaired and replaced both doors and fenders. Then the car was given a two stage Sikkens paint job. That paint is still on the car now. The front clip and doors are solid and have never had a speck of rust. The floor is solid except for a few holes in the right/rear passenger area. Included is a new replacement panel for this. The trunk has a few holes in the lowest "sump" area. The front of the trunk at the shock mounts and the trunk extensions are very solid. The frame rails are solid and free of rust. The firewall has some very light surface rust in a couple of spots and needs work at the blower motor area. I have started to recut the firewall to fit the A/C box and have not finished. The new owner will have to finish this or refit the firewall to accept the non-A/C box. Both types of blower boxes are included. There is a small area on the hood where something dripped on it while stored and the paint is bubbling up and one small ding in the hood. Otherwise there are few if any dings on the car. The rockers have started to bubble again and need some attention. Otherwise there is no rust showing on the body. There are small areas on the inner fenders where rust formed behind the hood hinges, but they look like an easy fix. The car has been stored indoors all the time and the body and paint are in incredibly good shape considering it was last painted nearly 25 years ago. I have a new pair of stock mufflers and a pair of reproduction exhaust tips. There is also a pair of original tips that are in decent shape. Also two pairs of exhaust manifolds and an original pair of head pipes that are in great condition are included. 2nd owner failed to remove the VIN plate from the 1974 dash before he installed it. Also he cannot find the plate he removed from the original dash. The drivers door is not the original, so it doesn't have the correct VIN either. The original correct fender tag is in place on the inner fender and is in perfect condition. Also the VIN is stamped on the firewall and on the core support. I have the title and old registration that matches the vin. It has not been registered for more than 13 years. I have seen a few Challenger convertible project cars pass through Ebay over the last few years, but have yet to see one in as good of condition, let alone as complete as mine.
