Vehicle Detail

ABOUT THIS CAR: We understand the car was restored/modified in 2003/04. It was sold in 2006 for $26,000 to an overseas client of ours. He immediately gave it to a restorer to add Air Conditioning. Over the course of the next FIVE YEARS the “restorer” kept stringing our client along about how the work was progressing before finally stopping communications all together. (He knew that with his customer overseas there was little he could do.) It was at that point our client asked that we get involved to recover his car. Our investigation found that the restorer had filed bankruptcy and the car was still locked up in his shop. We contacted the appropriate authorities and eventually got the car released. We immediately sent it to a J & M Motorsports in Manchester, CT who at a cost of $2,300 went through it and brought it back to life culminating in a Dyno-run showing the motor produced almost 350HP! The client (as you can imagine) totally fed up, has since moved onto other projects and asked that we sell this for him and recover what we can. The vehicle has recently been appraised at $20,000 - $22,000. The Title is clear and unencumbered. JUST LOOK AT WHAT YOU GET! 1969 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK BOSS 331 RESTORED WITH ZERO RUST AND AWESOME PAINT! Over $2300 just spent on a tune up at the speed shop (Receipts available). Dyno- tested within the past 60 days at almost 350HP! (Print out available). This car is modified and set up for everyday fast street / occasional track use. It has a smooth idle and powerband and it runs STRONG! NOTE: I have this vehicle advertised for sale locally I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. The following issues are known to us at the time of writing: The toggle for the driver’s door mirror is broken; The passenger side inner door card is cracked at the pull. The rear tires will need replacing in the near future (fronts are like new). The speedometer is not working (haven't checked to see what the issue is). The wipers do not work and the actual wiper arms have been and the motor have been removed but the gear assembly is all there - I think it just needs a motor and wiper arms. Any inspection invited - indeed encouraged but BEFORE the auction ends please. Mustang Q & A Q: Where does the 331 come from, and was the 5 speed a factory option how is the clutch? A: You get a 331 when you stroke a 302 motor. The factory never offered a 5 speed manual transmission in '69. This is an expensive ($2500) aftermarket set up I believe out a late mode 5.0L Mustang. The clutch is strong and works great. Q: How many miles on the motor and tranny, what is in the back, is it a posi ,who did all the work? Thanks Mike Mike, I can't honestly tell you how many miles are on the motor, but I know the car was restored in 2003/4 and sold to my client in 2006 - so how many miles could it have done? probably not many (like 5-10,000 miles - see notes above). I understand that all V8 mustang rear ends have Fords Trac-Lok set up so the rear would be a Posi - I'd have to look for a tag - or do a burnout. It's an 8.8 with DISC brakes. I believe the trans is also out a late model 5.0L too. Q: I am very Interested In Your Car. Would You Be Interested In Selling It Without Stereo System? Thanks. A: Hi, Thanks for your interest. I am not willing to remove the stereo system but of course you can if you buy it. This car has been fully restored, it's tight and fast with all the right equipment. Look at what has been done and what is in this car - you couldn't find a '69 fastback - make it rust-free, put a top quality paint job on it, new interior, chrome, strengthen the chassis, add an awesome 331 motor with 5-SPEED TRANSMISSION, roll cage, ALL WHEEL DISC BRAKES, 8.8 rear end, Corbeau seats, Simpson harnesses, stereo, A/C etc etc for anthing less than $25k. This car last sold on 2006 for $26k. This car was recently appraised at $20-22k. Q: Can you please tell me the vin number. do you have a Marti report A: Here is the VIN: 9T02L180287 - This car is not something you buy if you are looking for a STOCK example, clearly it is extensively modified and in no way original. So there's no point in pulling a MARTI report. This is a car that was built and set up for fast street use and the occasionally trip to the strip. It's useable as an everyday driver. It's had such a lot of money spent on it that if you wanted it could be modified further for exclusive racing use. Q: What would it cost to put the interior back to stock? A: I had a quick look on eBay and found one vendor selling complete used seat sets for $150 (see item: 250924205302) as well as others selling rear seats for $150-$200 and front buckets for about $200-$300). You would then be able to sell the pair of Corbeau Racing seats for $400 (they sell new for $400 EACH ! - see item: 250931947979) and the pair of Simpson Racing Harnesses for $100. So total cash out your pocket would be NIL - in fact you'd end up MAKING $250-$350! Q: What is the paint job like? A: The paint job is excellent. You can tell it's a quality job because the paint in the door jambs and doors has been buffed flat (no orange peel or overspray). The other thing to note is that this car was restored over 5 years ago. If the sheet metal repairs were done improperly the paint would have blistered long ago. There is only one (penny sized) spot on the passenger door where the Wimbledon white paint has a blemish. Q: How are the floors - any rust? A: No, there is not rust. See for yourself I took numerous photos. Torque boxes are solid. The front floor on the passenger side has been replaced and (in my opinion) it was done nicely.
