CLICK HERE FOR 84 ADDITIONAL PICS -----> http://imageshack.us/g/848/dscn2346q.jpg/ * You are bidding on one Fantastic Running 1974 Jeep CJ-5 in Near 100% Original Condition. Everything on this Jeep is original with the exception of the few items listed below: This CJ has had only one repaint since new. The original color is ‘Mellow Yellow’,(Paint Code 528). The original yellow paint is now peaking thru anywhere there is a paint chip or a scratch(see pics). The original yellow paint still looks to be in in very decent shape under the gray-repaint. The Rear Seat is Not Original The Tail-Lights are Not original The Steering Wheel is Not Original The Radio, Oil Pressure Gauge & Center Console are Not Original The ‘Valley’ Outside spare tire carrier that I removed is not original but may have been ‘dealer installed Everything else is 100% original as far as I know but if you notice anything else feel free to let me know. -The Body has NO ROT anywhere that I have found! The floors are 100% solid and rot free. I have inspected the floors from the top and from underneath many times and have found zero rot or previous repairs. (Jeep is originally from out west and was shipped here a number of years ago). As far as I know, all of the sheet metal is original!! -The Frame has NO ROT anywhere that I have found. The Frame is 100% Solid and rot free. I have inspected the frame many times and have found Zero Rot or Previous Repairs. -The original 258ci inline 6cyl engine runs like a top. This Jeep always starts right up & idles instantly. The odometer reads less than 31K miles and I believe it to be original. This is a reliable Jeep. I used it as my daily driver for most of the summer. I put 50-120 miles daily on this Jeep for a period of about three months this summer. The weather has started to turn in the last week or two so the Jeep has mostly been sitting in the garage now. -Transmission/Clutch/Transfer Case(4wd) work properly and haven’t given me any trouble at all while I have owned the Jeep. The brakes work great and the master cylinder is new. -This 1974 Jeep has a Factory Dana 44 Posi-Rear(Standard in ‘74)!! It still has the ‘Use Limited Slip Diff Fluid Only’ Tag affixed. -This Jeep has factory Warn Premium Hubs; also standard in 1974(They Work Great). -The original front seats have bestop seats covers on them(pictured). The original black seat upholstery is still under the seat-covers but is in poor/torn shape and will need re-upholstered(or just leave the bestop covers, they are great). Heater Works Excellent…Blows Nice & Hot. Has a very nice ‘Bestop Super Top’ with Two-Piece Soft Doors In Excellent Condition HOW IT DRIVES: I have owned many Jeeps, more than I can count on my fingers & toes(about half of them CJ5’s). This one is the best driving CJ-5 I have owned. The Jeep is great at Highway Speeds(55-60mph) and it goes down the road nice & straight. This Jeep is Not all over the road like many old CJ5’s(we have all driven scary old jeeps). That said, it is still a 38yr old Jeep and if you are not familiar with how old Jeeps drive and feel it may be best to look for something newer with more ‘creature comforts’. This Jeep has No Power Steering, & No Power Brakes…The way a Jeep Should be! Headlights, Tail-Lights, Break-Lights, Blinkers, Horn & Wipers All Work Properly. Many New Parts(all within the last 3mnths): New Spark Plugs, New Plug Wires, New Distributor Cap & Rotor, New Points, New Distributor Condenser, New Belt, New Voltage Regulator, New Ignition Coil, New Inline Fuel Filter, New Brake Master Cylinder, New Valve Cover Gasket, New Bestop Front Seat Covers & Bestop Bikini Top. The Carburetor and automatic choke were professionally rebuilt & adjusted. I'm probably forgetting a few things as well PLEASE READ --- FULL DISCLOSURE -- PLEASE READ BELOW: Interior The Emergency Brake is not Hooked up. The speedometer works but is usually not accurate. None of the gauges light up except for the little ‘low oil warning light’ in the main speedometer gauge/cluster. Radio is 20+yrs old & should be tossed(It actually worked until I removed & discarded the junky old speaker boxes). Gas Guage & Temp Gauge do not work(they have never worked while I owned this Jeep and I never tried to figure out why). Suspension/Drive train: Leaks a bit of oil(looks to be coming from the oil pan gasket and/or the rear main seal). The 'Spring to Shackle Bushings' should be replaced as what is left of them is pretty much or completely gone(see link to additional pics). Like many old Jeeps with original springs, this one leans to the left a bit. That being said...these tired old springs with shot bushings still ride great and drive straight. Body/Frame/Axles/Etc: Dent on left rear corner(see pics). Dent on drivers side rocker panel(see pics). Plenty of scratches & paint chips…You get the point There is plenty of light surface rust in the chips and scratches throughout(but no rot/cancer)! One Body-Seam on the Driver Side Rear Corner just to the right of the dent is starting to split a tiny bit(See pics) The Frame/axles/springs have plenty of light surface Rust & Minor-Scaling that can be scraped off with a wire brush(again, no rot)! I removed the 'Valley' outside rear spare tire carrier and there are now a few unsightly holes where the bolts/mount previously were(I still have the tire carrier and it will be included) **This Jeep Has Not Been Wire-Brushed or Undercoated in Any Way. Nothing Has Been Covered Up** Hopefully the list of flaws/needs above doesn’t discourage potential bidders but I wanted to make sure I’ve covered all basis. I assume the Jeep will be sold to another Jeep Enthusiast. I want whomever wins the auction to be happy and comfortable with the purchase(& hopefully the new owner will give it a proper stock restoration). This Jeep is the absolutely perfect candidate for a complete restoration. All Stock/Original and Complete. Rot Free Frame & Body. Excellent Running Engine. Good Transmission, Transfer Case, Axles & Clutch. I will be happy to show you the Jeep in Person. I can be available most any day with a little advanced notice. Feel free to call me anytime if you have any questions or would like pics of something in particular. Thanks & Happy Bidding, Dave 516-761-9275 PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING AND MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND VIEW THE ADDITIONAL 84 PICTURES (I have a removable tow bar That I can include for the winning bidder for an additional $150(used only once).
