Vehicle Detail

Drop-dead gorgeous Karmann Ghia convertible, candy-apple red with a hard-to-find white top and interior. This one's a real head-turner! Make sure you're feeling social when you take her out, because you WILL get attention. All chrome intact and shiny, Karmann Ghia script, insignia, sought-after skeleton bumpers, rounded VW hubcaps, and more. This car is a joy to drive. Not a show car by any means, but a stunning daily driver. It starts like a dream, even after sitting for a shamefully long time. (3+ months, say.) The car was just given a once-over by a local VW expert (Gary's Aircooled Service in Raleigh, NC - highly recommended!) and it had no major issues at all. All it needed was a little brake shoe adjustment, and now she'll stop on a dime! You won't see a specimen like this one again any time soon. Coca-cola license plate included free! ;-) I am not mechanical by any stretch of the imagination, so as far as the technical info I'm just passing along what I was told. I'm sure it will mean more to you than it did to me, LOL. It appears to have the original 40 HP engine, converted to a 12v battery. (Maybe that's why she cranks so well?) There's a *little* bit of minor bubbling on the paint under the doors, but the floor pans are solid and all in all the car has minimal rust. (Unlike the VW bus we had growing up - you could drop a cat through the floor on that one.) The only issue worth mentioning that I'm aware of with this car is that the convertible top hinge on the driver's side doesn't sit into the slot like it should, so there's been rubbing and wear on that side. I tried to photograph it, so see the pic. I took a picture of the worst of the bubbling paint as well - I think the harsh shadows actually make it look worse than it is in real life. If you have ANY specific concerns, feel free to message me. Honestly, all I know for sure is that's it's pretty and fun to drive. If you need more specific information, ask. Car sold as-is, all sales final. Buyer responsible for any shipping arrangements. This little ghia has been a terrific ride. I'm sorry to let her go, but with three kids I just don't have time to drive it like I should. A car this beautiful deserves to be with someone who will show her off! Are you ready to steer her into her next adventures? ***Updated listing to add photos of pans and update paint photos - added 1 more picture of bubbling in paint under rear bumper passenger side*** I have more pictures available, email if you want to see them. I have the inside of the trunk, a couple more shots of the pans, and some of the inside of the front wheel wells and behind the headlights. I don't have access to a lift, so all the pictures of the underside of the car are the best I can do with sticking my arm under there and snapping with the flash on.
