Vehicle Detail
I want an RV to travel for this winter. My wife says we have too many vehicles and I need to sell some first. My loss is your gain, come and get it. This was our daily driver for 5 years but over time it got older and rougher. It still runs and drives reliably, though its rougher than it used to be and it leaks worse. Its an old rover- it marks it territory with a variety of fluids. The only one it leaks excessively is coolant, it needs the coolant checked any day before you drive it- coolant is seeping out externally on the head gasket, does not seem to get into engine, no oil in coolant, no coolant in oil, just on the outside of the engine. My wife has driven it for up to four hours without checking it without it running too low. Unless you fix this leak you will need to check it frequently or you'll have serious issues. Its leaked like this for at least 5,000 miles. It also leaks a little power steering fluid, rear differential oil, and engine oil. Tires hold pressure and have a safe amount of tread left. Lights work though a rear lens is cracked. Horn and turn signals work. Windshield is cracked. Front left fender has a dent. Two rear doors are hard to open but all work. Locks work. Driver seat has a rip. Stereo is dead. Passenger seat heater is out. Driver seat switch has functional damage and won't tilt seat back. Passenger front window is off of the track. Sunroofs worked when last checked but need lubed before use. Heat works, 4x4 works, automatic transmission shifts well, Center Locking Differential works, High / Low has a broken solenoid for 30k miles won't go into Low, AC works, wipers and fluid work and fluid washes headlamps. Brakes are ok, can barely lock them which is how they've been for all 50k miles we've had it, anti-lock has been out that entire time and I hate anti-lock offroad so I did not "fix" it. Service Engine light, which means to inspect timing chain, has been on for 8k and I haven't reset it since I never checked the timing chain- the buyer should do this. Check Engine light started coming on intermittently 12k ago, its now on all the time, last time I pulled codes a few months ago it was for poor catalytic converter efficiency. Aside from running a bit rough (for past 12k, does not stall out) and leaking a bit much coolant it runs and drives pretty well. I'd take it a day or two away if I could stop and let it cool enough to add coolant every few hours. It handles well and is excellent off-road.
