Vehicle Detail

Relisted because of a nonplaying bidder. Up for auction is a 1980 Chevy Malibu 2 door coupe. Motor: 350 4 bolt main (rebuilt) aprox 80,000 miles on motor Holley 650 vacuum advance carb Edlebrock Performer intake manifold Engle cam shaft Aftermarket headers Aftermarket HEI distributor Transmission: 700r (rebuilt same time as motor) Shift Kit and Raybestos 3/4 clutch pack installed about 20,000 miles ago Exhaust: Full 2.5" dual exhaust with turbo mufflers and H-pipe Rear End: rebuilt GM 7.5" with 3:73 gears installed about 15,000 miles ago Others: Monte Carlo SS dash Iceman crossmember American Racing 15" wheels 225 tires on front 295 on rear I've owned this car for about 5 years, It was stored in a garage each winter, all routine maint has been done since I've owned the car. Very solid car. Here is the bad though: the rear frame rails are rusting out (very common for g-body cars) and would recommend they be replaced upon purchase of the car. I believe one or more of the rear body mounts are broken, new body mounts and rear frame rails are cheap to fix ($500). The exhaust may have a leak at one of the headers, the motor makes a raspy noise when accelerating which to me sounds like an exhaust leak and there is no decrease in power from the noise again I don't think its the motor internally. But I'm not 100% sure and want to be as honest about the car as possible. Also the rear main seal on the motor is leaking. The car runs great besides the above and is very solid. The odometer says 115000 but it was not connected when I purchased the car but I bought it from a trusted friends' father and the drivetrain transplant was done at a professional shop (originally it was a 6 cylinder car) So there is roughly 135,000 on the body and 80,000 on motor, the rest of the drivetrain has less. The body still has the original paint, there is some surface rust and small dings and dents. The only reason I am selling is because I got a new job with an hour and a half commute and need something better on gas. The car is worth more in parts alone then the starting price of the auction. The car also comes with a ton of extra parts: Qjet carb, water pump, brake rotors, chrome wheel well trim, and lots of interior parts! This car is a great deal for someone good with a wrench and is ideal for a mild restoration, street/strip or drag car. Thanks for viewing!
