Vehicle Detail

96 800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1966 Chevy Pickup- extremely rare Fleetside 4 X 4 "K25", 95% Modified Restoral - (Falcon, MO). This vehicle was appraised in 2008, at $18,500. According to the appraiser, high book price was $23,500 and indicates that only 924 of these trucks were produced with pickup beds on them. A copy of the appraisal is available. NADA retail is presently listed as $15,050. It is driven monthly for exercise and enjoyment only. Kept garaged Paint: 2008. Very good, with a few small chips, corner cracks on tailgate and rub marks where tailgate closure bar swings (see pix). Very clean body work. Drive Train: Runs extremely well and has excellent drive-ability and comfort. The entire drive train is in excellent condition. 4X4 works fine. - 6" lift kit. 35" tires, excellent Goodyear T/A radials. Minimal mileage on them. - Wood bed is completely restored (2008) with new 3/4 inch Red Oak, new hardware and Rhino lining in bed sides. - Power steering and brakes were not available in 1966, but have been installed after market in such a way as to allow simple, bolt-in replacement if ever necessary. The Power steering unit is from a 1979 Chevrolet 3/4 ton. - Moon Roof was existing when truck was purchased in Arizona 15 years ago. - Air conditioning was not available in this truck when purchased. Very high quality system was added after market. - After market Flex-Steel Bucket seats are extremely comfortable. - Transfer case is heavy duty cast iron with less than 8,000 miles on it. - Front Differential rebuilt in 2008. Less than 2000 miles on it.- Original 3 speed transmission has been replaced with a 4 speed (granny low). - Original engine replaced with Chevrolet 350 CU. IN. block, modified to a high - performance 383 CU. IN. approximately 8000 miles ago. Work performed by ASA Certified GM Master Technician. This is a very strong, powerful engine, which today would cost well over 1/2 of what we're asking all by itself. - New Edelbrock carburetor (2008).Unrestored areas:- Vertical Crack in center of windshield, does not effect view. Gas gauge needs new sending unit. Speedometer / Odometer does not work, therefore actual mileage cannot be ascertained, likely just a cable, it worked until a couple years ago. There is a tear in right side of driver seat (from the arm rest rubbing ) and some stains on the same side, none of which shows when the arm-rest is down (see pix). A seam is separated in seat bottom, passenger side. Passenger side mirror is cracked and a small piece missing. It works fine however. No radio. Carpet is decent, about 10 years old. Lacking 2 handles for heater controls. A/C Works extremely well, however loses coolant when unused for a few weeks at a time.Engine compartment is unrestored. This is where most of the 5% un-restored is located. We stopped short of preparing and painting this area. As you can see from the photo's, there is some deeper rust on the top-inner-fender in the front, driver side and, to a much lesser degree on the front passenger side. The small rusted areas need to be ground out and welded or that portion of the inner-fender replaced. Other than those two spots, everything is just surface rust and should easily sand off and paint well. On Nov-09-11 at 05:52:23 PST, seller added the following information: The wiring harness and fuse panels have never been replaced, but some of the wires have. The heater controls do not work. Two of the heater slide arms are missing or broken. There is a small switch on the dash to turn on the blower and a valve in the engine compartment must be opened in the winter to allow the heated water into the heater radiator core. There are a couple minor fluid leaks. One from the rear axle and the other from the driver-front ball joint. On Nov-12-11 at 07:28:48 PST, seller added the following information: The truck is licensed and inspected in the state of Missouri and is driven regularly. Lights are well powered and grounded so they are bright and meet state requirements. Brakes work very well.
