Vehicle Detail

1985 K2500 4x4 with snowplow w/power angle 3/4 TON This is a rough plow truck. It has only been used for Yard hauling & Snow plowing for the last 5 years or so. It has not been plated during this time. I have included Lots of pictures, so there are no big surprizes. It is what it is and that's all that it is. It runs, plows and hauls. I have not had it out of 4-wheel drive for the entire time I have owned it. The truck has been maintained, and things were fixed when important or needed, but was only used as a yard plow truck. The tail lights work, but the headlights need some attention, as well as a lot of other things. THE ODOMETER SAYS 46989 It could be 146989 or even 246989 I wouldn't have any way to tell. The title says EXEMPT, but Indiana does that for old vehicles, or those with over 100k. There is no warranty on this truck of any kind. It is offered up for auction, to the highest bidder, AS IS. Here are some details: Comes with a spare tire, and aftermarket cab corners & floorplate for floor. Radio seems to work, but the installation was way less than wonderfull. The tool box compartments are pretty rusted out, and there are Not bottoms in some of the compartments. Heater/defroster works, but airflow is less than it should be. The truck bed has factory wood for the floor, and some areas were weak, so we laid a sheet of plywood in it. It has a pintle hook, as well as a HEAVY 2" receiver. Semi type light cord hookup. (worked when used last year too) The wipers wipe, and the brakes work, but they are not wonderful... The transmission has always seemed to shift fine. The in-cab transfer case shifter has been in 4L and 4H, but I never pushed my luck by trying to force it into 2-wheel drive. I was afraid something would break, or I wouldn't be able to get back into 4-wheel drive. Linkage could probably use some lube. Parking brake has a broken cable. The hub lockouts turn very nicely. This truck runs fine, but it does smoke some. It also tends to let all the gas evaporate out of the carburetor after sitting for a few days. I think it might be a gasket on the carb, but I've never really messed with it. A shot of starting fluid has always worked just fine, when it has been sitting a while. It keeps you from running down the battery, trying to pump fuel back into the carburetor. The tires are regular heavy duty (all season) truck tires, with a good amount of tread. I do have a spare too (mounted) as shown in one of the many pictures. Here is a 13 second video of the 1985 GMC pickup in action: It was kind of windy that afternoon, so you can't hear much except wind... 1210kb MPG file: Click Here to download or play the 13 second Video. Sale details: There is no warranty on this Truck. It is being offered in "As Is" condition, for auction to the highest bidder. The truck can be seen in Granger, Indiana ( Near the Indiana/Michigan Stateline.) If you prepay the delvery, and your not there to pay the balance, at a pre-arrainged time & date, I'll haul the car home, and you will lose the monies paid. The truck is insured during transit by the carrier, but as soon as it's delivered it's your responsibility... The truck will be hauled on a trailer, and it wouldn't be very smart to plan on just hopping in, and trying to drive this truck home. Unless you live very close. If you are not handy, you better find someone who is, and become good friends, or avoid a vehicle in this sort of condition. It's old, and things will need attention from time to time. I have had this truck for about 5 years. I have never had to shovel my drive, or get someone else to plow my drive, since I have owned it. And we get plenty of snow here. There has been some interest by some who would like to get this truck, and remove the plow to put it on some other vehicle. Then possibly sell or scrap the truck. I was told by an employee at a scrap yard, that this truck (with the plow attached) would bring right around $600.00 for scrap price. I would have needed to drive or haul it there, drain all the fluids, and weigh it out. The truck still has lots of life in it, but even when it doesn't, it will still be worth the same $600.00 (more or less, depending on current scrap market prices) 1st off, the plow does work, and does what it is supposed to do, but it is probably almost as old as the truck, and it has been used plenty, before I ever even owned it. I thought it was welded onto the truck, but upon inspection, it looks like everything is bolted on. There probably are not even a handfull of bolts you could get off without a torch, but everything looks bolted. I'm not going to say that this plow system cannot be removed, anything is possible, given the right dose of determination, but I would question if it is really worth the trouble of removing... I just don't want anyone to think they are getting something that they aren't. The plow as well as the truck have seen their better days. But the truck & plow are probably greater together, than the sum or their separated parts... Just throwing in my 2 cents worth of opinion for No Additional Charge.
