Vehicle Detail

Who wants this 1967 900-series "Binder" with a V-8 and short box? Actually it is a Model 908 Deluxe ... vehicle was painted (I hate to say it, "John Deere" green; the original color was sort of a pale metallic sea green as you can see on one of the engine compartment photos) 12-15 years ago ... at that time it got dual exhausts and new tires and was a daily driver ... interior clean; gauges work except for oil pressure ... Vehicle starts and will idle quiet but under load acceleration is choppy on the Holley 2-barrel (last tuned in 2007) ... It will travel 55 easily in high gear ... I can't recommend driving this truck any distance because the 15" 10.5 inch fat tires make it hard to steer, and the alignment is sloppy ... the repaint is generally good. I'm afraid the pics might make it look a little too good. The roof is peeling badly having sat outside, under trees, in all seasons. There is some paint peeling inside the hood and on door hinge posts ... photos show two spots where there is rust on the body, in front of the left rear tire and at the right rear bumper there is a 3-4" split. Also the right cowl area under the hood needs attention, and the battery box is rusted through ... interior is pretty good: steering wheel has some cracks; excellent seat reupholstery, firm and tough with no rips ; dash is padded, ceiling and door panels too ... the old radio was replaced with a modern one (don't have the original) but the old piece of dash trim is still around ... my goal is no surprises for you and full disclosure: if you want to drive this vehicle right away,I'd start by buying some correct front wheels and getting normal tires ... brakes overhauled 5 years ago; they work but there is fade at a stoplight ... hydraulic clutch ... outside (modern) mirrors need to be replaced ... battery new this year ... for a 45-year old truck, condition not too bad: radio not working; some interior and exterior lights not working ... I think the manual transmission (floor shift) needs attention (noisy in some gears) ... underneath is surprisingly clean, not a lot of grease ... I just drove this vehicle recently 100 miles of two-lane highway, and the steering rack definitely needs work, although maybe some new tires and an alignment would do the trick. It has a straight axle with king pins and leaf springs on the front ... I'll try to answer any questions you may have ... a list of new parts installed 2007 include brake wheel cylinders, hoses, drum turning, grease fittings, new starter and spark plug wires. Again, no surprises: body work is 12-15 years old and it has sat outside ... if you want a truck to work on this winter to get ready for spring, this is a good choice at a fair price ... to me there's something classic about the grill and "face" of this truck compared to the later model Internationals because I remember these as National Park Service trucks I saw in campgrounds as a kid ... come and haul it home before the weather and roads get rough ... Nebraska title is clear ... see my eBay Feedback ... thanks for looking.
