I bought this car from a prominent MB enthusiast who owns a business restoring the wood for classic Mercedes'. Since purchasing it, I've taken a new job that has me constantly on the road and all this car does is sit in a garage. This is by far one of the nicest 116's you'll come across. I've taken great care of it, including most recently replacing the AC compressor with a new unit and replacing the battery, all within the past year. The bundt rims have been powder coated thus why they look so good in the pictures. While this car does show high miles, the bottom and top end of the engine were rebuilt; therefore, it does not leak any oil or smoke. The transmission was rebuilt at around the same time and shifts well. The [real] leather hides were all replaced and look great, they have always had sheepskin seat covers over them which kept them in good shape. The body of the car is very solid with no visible rust with the exception of one small spot behind the rear right wheel as pictured. The front and rear wind screen gaskets have been replaced, and you can tell. This car has been meticulously maintained over its life. In fact, I even have a 4" binder with all records and receipts for the car. The previous owner completely converted it to euro with lights (front and back), bumpers (front and back), and the rare headlight wipers that really make these cars look good. In addition to those modifications, it has the fire extinguisher, trunk triangles, and rear headrests as well as a slightly taller limited-slip differential. Because the previous owner's business is restoring MB wood, he professionally refinished all the wood in the car and veneered it in burl about 10 years ago. At the time, the dash was replaced and still has NO cracks in it. It has all the appointments of a pristine euro 6.9 but without the engine and troublesome suspension. I've gotten many compliments on this car whether I'm at a gas station or a Mercedes-Benz club gathering. Inspections are welcome and encouraged.
