Vehicle Detail
Almost complete and unrestored numbers matching 1957 TR6 with a Canadian title. I had intended to use this bike as a daily rider, so threw some paint on just to make it look passable, but it really should be fully restored, both mechanicly and cosmeticly. In its day, it was one of Triumphs most desirable products, and came with chrome headlight, and aluminum front fender. Export models, at least to the US, were finished beautifully in Ivory and Aztec red, while those of us on the other side of the pond had to make do with shell blue. 1957 was the last year it had the 8" air scoop front hub, and changed to full width for 1958. It was incomplete when I found it, and the fenders are correct repops, seat is incorrect, and is just sitting there. The headlamp will need the plug socket hole putting on the underside, but I will supply the plug. The exhaust fits, but is off a duplex and is bolted to the footrest hangers in a slightly wrong position. Mag gives a good spark, and It ran this summer with a bit of coaxing, but I haven't tried lately. All in all, it's a very viable restoration project, with no need to scan Ebay for missing bits and bobs. Please remember, I'm not claiming it's ready for the road, it is still a project, and it might have scratches, dings and warts. Shipping to the US will be about $750 by Forward Air, and I will deliver to them and load into their crate at no charge. I will deliver anywhere at buyers expense, but be warned, it can get expensive with freight and crate charges, but there is no charge for my time.So check first, buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. Please note, payment in full by bank transfer only within 3 days On Oct-23-11 at 06:53:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had questions about the bikes readiness for the road. I want to reiterate, it's nowhere near ready. It's a project with no wiring harness, but more important, I am selling it on the clear understanding that it should undergo a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration that should include brakes, lights etc. prior to use. Please bid with this in mind. Please supply your location when asking for a shipping quote. I am finding it varies by location, sometimes costing more than the $750 I mentioned to the US.
