Deluxe interior. This first year SS/RS 4-speed Camaro needs nothing. 1967 Camaro SS/RS Coupe This wonderful first-year Camaro was originally built at the GM plant in Los Angeles, California. A decoding of the factory build tag indicates that this highly optioned vehicle is a rare SS/RS Camaro equipped with the rare-for-’67 Deluxe interior. The Deluxe interior is identified by the upgrades to the interior door panels, and by the distinctive white wide stripe detail to the front bucket and rear seats. Rare for the era power windows complete the luxury of this performance machine. Other desirable factory option equipment includes M-21 4-speed, 12-bolt rear (original to the vehicle), Tachometer, Center Console with Gauges, front and rear spoilers. The desirable 15-inch Rally wheels (with “Flat” style center caps and trim rings) are controlled via power steering and halted by power front disc brakes. The suspension is upgraded with KYB gas shocks, keeping the BFG radials firmly planted The engine and transmission were professionally overhauled by a reputable San Diego area builder of racing engines. While non-numbers matching, the stroked 350 block offers great sound and acceleration, with the exhaust scavenged via headers to dual Flowmaster mufflers and an X-pipe in the system. Always a California car, authenticated by the original Black Plate vehicle license, the basic body was virtually rust-free; all the original GM sheet metal, floor pans, trunk pan, and quarter panels were retained during the ground-up refurbishment process. Only a two-repaint vehicle, the Camaro again gleams in its original color of Nantucket Blue, now enhanced with a modern clear coat, the color aesthetically offset by the black, universally recognizable, Z/28-style rally stripes. Rally Sport fans know that the rare RS option provided an even more sporty and aggressive look in 1967 that included a special black egg-crate front grille that appeared more flush, and flanked by similarly-styled, electrically-operated headlamp hideaway covers.
