This 1988 Peugeot 505 STX is equipped with a 2.8 liter V6 engine and has the very rare 5 speed manual transmission. It has been well maintained, bought from, and serviced regularly by a Peugeot dealership in Ramsey, NJ. The engine runs great, and although the mileage is high, these engines are known to last over 300,000 miles before rebuild is necessary. Very recent work includes major tune-up involving replacing the starter, distributor cap and rotor, and the alternator belt. The body is in excellent condition. It has been re-sprayed and re-trimmed with new door bumpers and the chrome is in excellent condition. As is typical for this model, the sunroof works, although stubbornly, and there is some rust (see photo) and the whole thing should really be replaced. There is some other minor body rust, near rear wheel well and a small ding on the rear driver's side door. The interior of the car is also in excellent condition, except for a crack in the dashboard above right of center of console (see photo). The car is an absolute joy to drive! It has fantastic handling and power, and its extremely comfortable seats and cushy suspension make for an incredible driving experience. I used this car as my primary vehicle for several years, but work necessitated purchasing a wagon and I can no longer maintain 2 vehicles. I will be sad to this car go, it has been much loved.
