Vehicle Detail
This Town & Country van could be a good deal for someone with access to body shop and repair! Van was in excellent shape until about 1:30 AM on Sunday when a deer decided to commit suicide. We could not have hit it more square if we tried! It was a smaller doe, so it did not come up over the hood into the windshield, but it still did enough damage that we cannot deal with it. Due to being a 1999 vehicle and having just over 175,000 miles on it, I had made the decision to just carry liability insurance on the van. So now I have a van that I cannot afford to repair! First the good news... The interior is in excellent condition for it's age, leather with no tear, rips, stains or signs of extensive wear. Front seats are power and heated, middle two seats are buckets and third seat in back. All leather. Carpet and flooring is all in great shape, all the separate rugs are intact. Engine runs good, no leaks or noises. Just spent $650 a month ago on new brakes all around, it needed new rotors in front, drums in back and a new master cylinder in back. New (rebuilt) air conditioner compressor about two years ago. New Serpentine belt at the same time. Tires are Michellin Hydroedge all around, including the full-size spare. One was replaced in the last year. Has Infinity sound system with single CD player, 2 position memory buttons for seat placement, working cruise control, steering wheel stereo controls, separate passenger and driver temperature controls with controls in back also, and many other Limited options including power locks, power windows, power mirrors, etc. Have two remotes and keys. Overall, still runs smoothly and drives fine, no internal engine or drivetrain damage that I can see. Transmission still shifts smoothly as before the accident, brakes were fine (just not quick enough), etc. No oil or other fluid puddles with the exception of the radiator fluid. Title is free and clear, no liens to worry about. Now the bad... I have tried to include good photos of the engine compartment. Radiator and tranny cooler are definately crushed. Possible an accessory bracket bent as serpentine belt came off. I am sure some of the hoses will need replaced, the front grill and miscellaneous pieces in that area as that front was crushed agains the engine. Passenger side door makes a slight noise that was not there previously. Front bumper was essentially unharmed with the exception of a small break near the top of the passenger side. I really can't tell much more than that. Hood actually still opens and latches. The hood release still works. Not sure how, but it does. the hood appears to have rolled up instead of folding up in the middle and jamming into the windshield. I was actually close enough to home to get it there before it overheated, so I avoided a tow. However, it will have to be towed or hauled, with no serpentine belt on and no radiator, can't be driven. One other pre-deer item, one of the arms to raise the back hatch is missing, so the single one won't hold up the rear hatch door. Needs one of those. So that is the story! I am just trying to recover as much as I can to put towards another automobile, my starting bid is the amount I have already had an offer locally from a salvage place that also has a garage. I added enough to cover my eBay fees if this sells, and anything over my starting bid gets me a little more towards transportation. We are a family of four down to one auto, and that just isn't going to work! Hopefully the pictures give you enough to see that this is really a nice van (before the deer). If you have any additional questions or need any additional details, feel free to ask. I am available to show the vehicle locally to anyone that wants to see it and I do have it listed locally, so this auction is subject to close with a good local offer. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
