UPDATE 10/25/2011: Buy It Now Lowered to $30,250.00!! INTRODUCTION Hate to see it go but it's going to make somebody a fantastic truck! Low miles, immaculately cared for, perfectly set up for light offroading and heavy duty towing and can comfortably seat 5 people. I need some cash for a business venture and we just don't use this truck enough to keep it around anymore. My wife and I custom ordered this truck in November 2005 because there was not one anywhere in the country that had the options I wanted. Took delivery in late 2005 and have been loving the truck ever since. When the order was placed, the dealer incorrectly forgot to specify the Sport option I wanted. When the truck arrived and I could tell it was an SLT (it had chrome bumpers and grill), the negotiating began. In the end, I settled for them swapping the front and rear bumpers and grill from a brand new 2006 Sport on their lot at no charge. I didn't care about the wheels (the Sport has aluminum wheels) or the different gauge cluster background graphic. So, this is an SLT inside but a Sport outside. There is a picture of the original window sticker in the pictures with a detailed list of options, but here are some of the highlights of the factory options:Dodge Ram 3500 SLT/SportQuad-Cab with full 8-foot bedCummins 5.9L Diesel EngineShift-on-the-fly four wheel drive4-wheel antilock disc brakes60/40 folding rear seat with underseat storage and load traysSingle Rear Wheel GroupFactory 4.10 front and rear gear ratios with rear limited slip differentialPower seat (driver), mirrors, locks, pedals, side and rear sliding windowFold-out towing mirrors with blind-spot mirror6-disc CD changer/MP3 playerFront two-stage and side-curtain airbags for rear seat passenger protectionTowing package with class IV hitch Within the first 2000 miles, I completed the modifications we wanted to the truck to make it suit our needs and wants perfectly. We used the truck primarily for towing an enclosed trailer (about 10,800lbs loaded) and never did quite as much offroading as we expected to, but knew the truck was very capable. Everything I've added is top quality stuff and was professionally installed either by myself or a qualified shop. Here is a brief list of the modifications to the truck, more details can be found below:Kroeker Offroad Engineering (KORE) "Chase System" Leveling kit with Bilstein remote resevoir shock absorbersToyo Open Country M/T 35x12.5 R17 tires (E load range rated)Prodigy Electronic trailer brake controllerFirestone rear air bags with VIAAIR 100% duty cycle compressor and 2.5 gallon air tankA.R.E. canopy/topper with exact paint match, opening side and front windows, two interior lights and roof rack tracks in placeN-Fab nerf bars with three steps per sideLineX spray-in bedliner - full bed and over the top of both railsK&N air filterAll cab windows are tinted to match factory rear window tint GENERAL NOTES The truck has brand new oil in it (changed every 12-15k miles at local dealer) and a nearly new K&N air filter. Differential fluids were changed by dealer at 50k miles so truck is current on all fluids/maintenance. The sale includes a full-sized spare tire on a matching factory wheel. Other items are included if you use the Buy It Now option - see that section below. CONDITION DETAILS I am all about full disclosure when selling a vehicle through eBay. The three vehicle sales I've been involved with previously have all gone extremely well and I truly believe it's because I tell it exactly like it is. Pretty much everybody I know would tell you this truck is "perfect," but I know better. So, here is a list of every defect I know of on the truck:Small dents (quarter size or less): one on hood, one on roof, two on tailgate, two on rear bumper - worst one visible in picturesMedium to large dents - nonePaint scratches: one on front passenger fender (pea sized), two on rear bumper, several on bottom of front bumper fasciaPaint marks (will almost certainly buff/wax away completely) passenger side down length of truck from branches during a couple offroad trips - shown in picturesInterior stains/discolorations in various places. All are very faint and may be completely removable (we've never had it steam-cleaned or professionally detailed). I was not able to get any of them to show up in pictures to give you an idea of how faint they are.Interior nick/scratch on the drivers side door panel. Not sure how this happened but it's been there for a long time and is at zero risk of getting worse - see pictureBedliner has a few scratches, gouges, and stains typical of normal use. Very little fading because the canopy is usually on the truck so it's not exposed to sunlightThe front fold-down canopy window (flips towards the back of the truck so you can clean it without removing the canopy) has a tendency to not stay up. This is a factory defect that has never bothered me enough to have a go at fixing itSteering - when you turn the steering wheel to full right lock, the rear, inside edge of the passenger side tire will rub on the suspension arm. It does not cause any problems but can be alarming if you're not expecting itDrivetrain issues - zeroTires - this set of Toyo tires is about used up, probably good for a few thousand more miles depending on how you drive. See the Why Buy It Now section for more information about tiresAccident history - in 2006 I was rear-ended in the truck by an unlucky Camaro in the rain (this truck stops surprisingly quickly). There was cosmetic damage only to the rear bumper and the original trailer hitch, the Camaro was totaled. My insurance company replaced both the bumper and hitch with brand new parts - nothing else was damaged or repaired. They were going to repaint both, but I wanted new parts bcause the truck had less than 2000 miles on it at that point and the adjuster okay'd it. I still have all the accident paperwork to prove it was exactly what I say - no more and no less. MODIFICATION DETAILS I know some people are uncomfortable with "modified" vehicles. This is completely valid as there are a LOT of vehicles out there that are modified with little or no understanding of the effects the modifications will have on the performance and service life of the vehicle. In my case, each modification was made for a good reason with a thorough understanding of the pros and cons (if any) that came with it. So, I wanted to lay out some of the details around each modification and why I did it. One very important point with regards to the suspension modifications - I WILL INCLUDE ALL STOCK PARTS THAT WERE REMOVED OR REPLACED. So, if you decide you don't like or want the lifted truck, you can return it to full stock condition. I would not recommend it, but it's your truck now, not mine!KORE Suspension Leveling Kit: This is a high-end kit from a company that knows Dodge products very well. My kit came with Bilstein remote resevoir shocks, new coil springs for the front and leaf springs for the rear, and associated billet parts required to install. The new front springs lift the front of the truck approximately 2" over stock height. I have not installed the rear springs that came with the KORE kit as I elected to retain the stiffer OEM rear springs because I did a lot of towing. The KORE rear springs are a little softer and will likely give a better ride, but they would place more load on the airbags to support heavy tongue loads and I did not want that. The only downside of the front lift is that the panhard bar (OEM) pulls the front axle slightly towards the drivers side of the truck which is why the passenger tire contacts the suspension arms at full lock but the drivers tire does not. This is a minor issue and does not affect driveability at all, but it's something to be aware of. You could eliminate it completely with a lengthened or adjustable panhard bar, but I never saw any need to do so.Toyo Open Country M/T 35x12.5 R17 Tires: I wanted the look and functionality of a true mud terrain tire but also needed an "E" load range rating and, at the time, the Toyo was really the only option. As of now, there are several more companies making mud terrain tires in this size that are E rated, all of which cost less than the Toyos. I have had great luck with these tires and get about 25k miles out of a set if I rotate tires every 8k miles or so. There is some road noise but it's not loud enough to be a concern for my family or I. I recommend running this tire diameter because of the 4.10 gear ratio - a smaller tire will cause the gearing to be excessively "short." After extensive research, I elected to keep the stock Dodge steel 17x8 wheels. There are other wheels out there that are nicer looking, but at the time I was shopping there were none that were as strong AND had the proper offset for these trucks. In a heavy duty truck like this, improper wheel offset will cause undue stress on the axles and suspension - not something I wanted to sign up for.Prodigy Trailer Brake Controller: This was the best performing brake controller available when I purchased it. There may be newer ones that are equal or better, but this unit works flawlessly and has never let me down towing anything from lightweight single-axle trailers to 36' triple-axle enclosed trailers. I mounted it in an easy-to-see and easy-to-reach location and could not be happier. WHY BUY IT NOW? I prefer buy-it-now sales as it's easier on everybody and the Buy It Now price is a very fair price for this truck with these options - thousands less than you would pay a dealer or than you would spend to reproduce the truck. ONLY IF you use the Buy It Now option, I will include the following items. If the Buy It Now option is not used - regardless of the final sales price - these things WILL NOT be included, so please don't ask.A brand new set of tires for the truck - all 4 professionally mounted and balanced. I'll discuss with you the specific tire but it must be the current tire size.A 4" drop trailer hitch with a 2 5/16" ball and a locking hitch pinTire iron and floor jack that I keep in the bed of the truck so that you can change one of these tires anywhere, any time. I've never had a flat in the truck, but am always ready if I do. PAYMENT AND OTHER DETAILS A $5,000 deposit is due within 7 days of auction end, the remainder is due within 14 days of auction end. Payments must be made with bank wire transfer (preferred) or cashiers check. I am willing to deliver the truck to any major airport within 600 miles of Nashville, TN but you must buy my return airline ticket and pay (actual costs) for diesel (about $135 to go 600 miles). In the past, I have met out-of-town buyers at the Nashville airport and they've driven to their final destination from there. Good luck, and happy bidding! Feel free to contact me with any questions or for more details/pictures.
