Vehicle Detail

Garage find California survivor ! This car is unbelievable orig cond ! The mileage I just looked in the garage is showing 32557 that was weird ! Of course this will change because car will probably be drivin a little before it sales. The paint is orig as far as I can tell. I see no signs of a repaint as far as I can tell. I think it will buff back up to a shine because its the orig lacquer but I have not tried. The interior is almost completely orig and in unbelievable cond ! The only thing I had replaced was the bottom of drivers seat it was tore at the seam . I replace the orig greenish colored floor mat because it was so brittle that when you touched it or stepped on it it would crack. The orig green mat is not available so instead of going with black I decided to go with the orig carpet instead . The orig paint on the dash and around the window trim is beautiful . The gauges are nice clear and look like new . The chrome and trim on the car is orig and very nice cond . People ask me if I rechromed the the front bumper and grill head light trim etc because it looks so nice . But I say no it's orig ! Even the little crest the blue and white and red that are on the front and rear are nice they have just slight fading in the very corners. The floor pans braces all look very solid and rust free. There is a little surface rust from where moister under the trunk matt and down in the tire spare well. Its too bad some one did not remove the plugs when it was new it would not have done this if the water could have gotten out :( I don't see any under coating on the car every thing is very clean . The window felts and rubber around the windshield side glass rear window all look like new with no cracking or rotting from what I can see ! The windows all roll up and down with ease like they are new ! The doors open and shut with ease . The hood shuts really nice and lines up really nice. Even the hood hinges them self almost look new ! The rims are orig and yes that is the orig paint on those too ! The one in the trunk still has the bias ply tire on it ! The jack looks almost like new too ! The car drives down the road like new it don't pull and you let go of the wheel and it goes straight ! The rivets are still on the front drums and hubs ! The steering wheel is beautiful and has no cracks in it that I can see ! The car must have spent its whole life garaged because everything is just too nice to ever have set outside . I think this car would score big in a survivor class at any show ! I think I have covered everything but please call me for complete description of any details like chips and dings etc . I far as I can tell and from every one that has looked at it everyone agrees the mileage must be orig. But of course with it being 54 years old I have no way of verifying it . But I have found no one that disagrees once they have seen the car ! The car sat for almost 5 years before I bought it . The fuel was bad so I trailered it home put a new battery in it . Yes even the bat cables are orig ! Anyway I installed a new battery then hooked a line to the fuel pump to a fresh can of gas and she fired right up ! I stuck the 1 gal gas can between the rad support and the grill took it for a spin and she ran great ! Then I got the dumb idea to see if it would run on the old gas in the tank . I hooked the line back up and yes she ran on the old gas ! But man did she have bad breath ! Well that turned out to be a mistake because after about 50 mile of driving the valves stuck shut from the surpy old fuel ! I had no idea that could happen ! So I had to pull the head and send it to the machine shop. The guy there said he had never seen anything like the gooey stuff on the valves ! He completly over hauled the cyl head at a cost of 360.00 dollars. He said by the look of the valves and seats he could tell the motor had very little miles on it. Again this helps verify the low miles. So I installed the rebuilt head with new push rods. I replaced the fuel pump and cleaned out the fuel tank. Filled with fresh gas and she is running beautiful again. Please remember this is a 54 year old car so its not perfect but probably only one of maybe a hand full of unrestored unrepainted 57 chevys left in the country ! Please Call or email me with any questions or concerns before bidding. I will go over every nick scratch etc with you over the phone. I want the buyer to be very satisfied with their purchase. I think I covered everything but I'm sure I forgot something. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end aucton early. Vehicle is sold as is where is with out any warranty expressed or implied. All information is correct the best of my knowledge but I am no expert. Purchaser to verify all info and numbers to be correct if so desired before bidding .Thank you 720-333-1680. Hot Rod Duane .
