Up for sale is a very rare 1965 Ford Mustang “K” (High Performance 289 CID, 271 horsepower V-8) coupe. 1965 “K” code Mustangs represent only 7,273 of 680,989 Mustang built in 1965. Documented two owner vehicle with present owner having original bill of sale, build sheet, owner's manual made out to first purchaser and Ford registered owners ID plastic card. Vehicle has always been in Illinois and originally sold in Momence, ILL. Car is rusty and needs everything. Engine does not run but turns freely. Owner has found correct “K” VIN number on lower right side of block proving that engine is original to the car. Heads are correct casting number for “K” code engine. Distributor is dual point, mechanical advance type correct with “K” Mustangs. Exhaust manifolds are correct “flowing” style for “K” engines. Transmission is a manual four speed with a 9” rear end. Intake manifold is an aftermarket with dual quad carburetors. Vehicle has manual front disc brakes. Exterior color was Honey Gold and since repainted a light green. Sheet metal dates correspond to assembly date. Owner had original window sticker listing options that are on this vehicle. Seller has rust-free six cylinder coupe body without engine or transmission available at extra cost if desired.
