Vehicle Detail
IT'S A BOY!!! In seven more weeks we will be having our first baby boy, so the single seater has to go. 1970 SS Elcamino tribute, very well done. This is originally a Nevada car that has all of its original panels and no rust issues. The only panel that has been replaced is the hood; it now has a new cowl induction hood with black ralley stripes. You will see by the photos that the undercarriage is as clean as the exterior. This car has a small block V8 but I can not read the casting numbers on the back of the block to identify size. Previous owner put the motor together and it has not given me one problem all the while I have driven it. The motor had a cam replacement, head job, new intake and a new gear drive timing chain replaced when he did the rebuild. This car is not an out of the box restoration; it has been driven almost 3 years now on the engine rebuild and is problem free. The gear drive makes a nice whine, almost sounds like a blower car coming at you. It has duel exhaust that sounds great and gives sweet music as it collects lots of attention and thumbs up cruising down the road. This car is very nice but is not a show car even though it easily sits in all the local shows here in Florida. It has a couple of dings in the bed stainless and the back bumper has very minor pitting. You don't notice when you are looking at the car but as the owner and with weekly detailing you see it everytime. If you replaced the bed stainless and the rear bumper, this car really would be top shelf. The car has a late model 5 speed manual transmission out of a iroc z that shifts very smooth. When 5 speed was installed, we also installed a new drive shaft- custom made. With the overdrive this car gets great fuel economy even though it is a performance car. Truly the best of both worlds. It has new airshocks a year ago and new front shocks six months ago. Tires are a year old with excellent tread. It has a 12 bolt rear end - and no I don't know the gear. I am assuming mid 3 series. It has front power disc brakes and power steering; occasionally power steering pump drips but it is intermittent (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt). It is minor and does not usually leave a spot on the ground. Pump works as it should. I don't see any hose issues. All of the electrical in the car works as it should with the exception of the back up lights in the tailgate, they were not hooked up when the 5 speed was added. The car was painted about a year ago and it still looks great. It is very smooth and shiny. There are no chips or bubbling. The reflections you see are almost crystal clear as you can see by the photos. The stripes are painted not decals. The bed was done with spray on rhinoliner and colored to match car. The bedfloor had NO issues- rhinoliner was done to protect not cover anything. The undercarriage was cleaned and undercoated about one and half years ago to protect original panels. It has an aftermarket stereo with removable face plate and the speakers were moved to just behind the upper part of the seat backs. I did this so you don't have to crank the radio to hear music. It has an aftermarket temp guage mounted in the left side of the dash and a small tach on the column. The interior in this car looks as good as the exterior with most of it being less than a year old. The headliner, sail panels, seat cover, floor insulation, carpet and door panels were all replaced new. I have a lot more invested in this car than my buy it now, but baby is coming and car must go. Going to build a 67 chevelle so we have a back seat for the new little one. Fly into Sanford FL or Orlando airport, I will pick you up and you can drive her home anywhere.
