Vehicle Detail

For your consideration is a 1972 Buick Skylark GS 455 convertible. I am a Mopar guy, so I am not nearly as knowledgeable with GM products. This is a nice driver. The car pulls harder than any 383 Road Runner or Super Bee that I have owned...it has gobs of torque. It is an original North Carolina car and I am the fourth owner. The car was painted in 1991, base/clear. The guy I bought the car from owned it for over 20 years. When the car was painted, there was no rust anywhere. The only filler used was for "straightening purposes" only, not to fill in holes. The original body panels remain on the car as well. The floors, frame and trunk are solid. I can take pictures of the underside for anyone serious....my batteries on my camera died before I had a chance to take them. The saddle interior is in good shape. The horn needs a relay. The car is equipped with a very nice Pioneer sound system ($2000 worth). I have another uncut radio bezel, should the next owner want originality. It goes with the car, but I don't have the original radio. The power top looks and works great. The motor, top and parade boot are seven years old. Everything works (lights, heater, glove box light, turn signals, reverse lights, interior lighting, tag light, trunk light), except the cruise control and horn. Just under $1,000 was put into the air conditioning system within the last two months. It has been converted and blows ice cold. Also installed, were new valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, oil filter housing gasket and new power steering gear with hoses. The engine was completely torn down and rebuilt in 2008. It is a '71 455 block with GS internals and heads. The heads were redone during the rebuild. The cam is a Comp Cams High Energy 252 (Cam, lifters, etc.). The transmission was totally rebuilt in 2008, as well. The rearend appears to be a 308 rear ratio. The engine runs, idles, starts, etc, great. The transmission shifts great, with no hesitations or slipping. The Flowmaster Mufflers makes this car sound like it looks. The '72 Hunter Green (original color) on the Saddle interior looks great and is a nice combination. To sum it all up, this is a nice cruiser that you can take to local shows, cruise nights, or drive cross country. It gets the usual looks and "thumbs ups" everytime I drive it. It's NOT a perfect show car, nor is it a rust bucket....the car is solid all around! The paint has a few touch ups, scratches, ect. that my camera could not pick up. This car is a 10-15 footer. I am sure I am forgetting something, so call or email with questions. My name is Andy and my number is (706) 836-4410. I may trade for a nice driver quality 68-70 Road Runner or Super Bee. I have sold one car to an international bidder several years ago, and the transaction went fine, so international bidders are welcome. Please, no tire kickers or scammers. Serious calls only. I DO NOT need help selling this car. The title is clear and in my name. I do not have a Pay Pal Account. Thanks for looking. On Oct-10-11 at 07:50:34 PDT, seller added the following information: This Skylark was originally a 350 4 barrel car, this is not the original motor. The car also has a factory tilt steering wheel. A question was asked about the gas gauge, speedometer and wheels. The speedo and gas gauge work fine. The Magnums are 15's with 80% tread life left on the tires. I will not be at the computer until Friday evening, so call with any questions. ThanksOn Oct-15-11 at 14:07:00 PDT, seller added the following information: An eBayer asked about the "driveability" of the car.....as I said in the description, you can drive this car anywhere. It drives as a vintage Buick or Olds muscle car should. No rattles, squeeks, shimmys, shakes, etc. The car has power front disc brakes. Another email asked about the bushings, shocks, window fuzzies, etc. The bushings, shocks and springs are three years old. The new window fuzzies (inside and out) were intalled last year. The front and rear anti-sway bars are in place. Two of my bidders are within 150 miles of me.....PLEASE COME SEE/DRIVE THE CAR!! Do NOT bid on and win this car, then come and kick tires. The low reserve for the car has been met. Thanks...
