Vehicle Detail
1970 Mustang Mach 1 - Project Car We purchased this 1970 Mach 1 from a guy who was in the process of restoring but came into financial troubles.. This was going to be his "baby" so most work was done well.. He had the engine rebuilt recently - However, we have not started the engine (Needs some ignition parts) - it turns over and everything looks good. The floor pans have been replaced, inner/outer rear fenders, rear quarters have all been replaced. The underbody of the car is spot less.. There is no rust on this car. The previous owner had this project about 70% of where it is now, when we purchased. We finished any metal work needed, removed remaining factory paint (Took to bare metal), fixed remaining surface rust, undercoated and primed the body. This is as far as we typically take cars, as we typically sell rust-free projects.. We take care of the B.S. so others can play with the fun stuff.. This is one of the nicer projects we have started with.. Will make a nice car when done. The previous owner threw the seats, dash and carpet away as he planned to buy new. We have most of the parts needed, but you will need seats, carpet and a dash pad and various trim parts. I'd say we have 90% of everything needed to finish. See the pictures, there are many trim parts and interior parts boxed up and ready to go. The following Body work has been completed: Body work has been repaired with replacement equipment from ( National parts Depot ) New Floor Pans (Driver,Passenger) New Rear Quarter Panels New Rear inner/outer fenders Paint Removed to bare metal - All surface rust removed. Body primed. Underbody Coated Interior floor Primed/Painted. The Following Engine Work has been Completed: 351w bored 40 over / TRW forged aluminum pistons / New timing chain & gears / Midrange crane cam / Dana hydraulic lifters / Mallory High Performance hardened push rods, retainers & keepers / 289 Hi Po Early big valve heads shaved 50 thousandths off deck / prted & polished to match headman headers exhaust bore / ford 390 valve springs on head / all fel pro gaskets / Polished Aluminum Holley intake manifold / Earson chrome aluminum roller rockers / Mallory dual point distributor / Mallory Super coil / 850 Double pumper carb / Headman headers / Modine high capacity radiator / custom made shrouding / Melling high volume oil pump / Moroso valve covers / Moroso chrome tie down chrome / Mr gasket super scoop blower air filter assembly w/ butterfly / manual & electric back up fuel pump / threaded rocker arm studs / all custom chrome brackets & pullys / dual alt belt / 100 amp polished alum motorcraft alternator / Chrome PS pump / High capacity tranny cooler / Turbo cooling fan Fmx Transmission / B&M shift kit / 9" fairbanks torque convertor / stock rear end / 2 new front rotors hubs & bearings / brake pads 9" Locking Rearend. Accordign to previous owner, this was pushing over 500 hp (We can not verify this) Whats left to Finish: Needs a Windshield Needs Seats,Carpet, Dash pad (Previous owner threw away) Engine needs igintion coil, Ignition Switch, Altinator, Power Stearing Pump, fuel lines, Radiator installed. Everything else looks good Has long-tube headers... Needs exhaust. Needs Paint. Was told it was originally red with black stripes. Needs Mach 1 Hood Scoop. Needs trim parts, lights installd Overall this is a great project car. If you like the 69-70 fastback mustangs and want a great place to start your project, this is a great rust-free option with most of the parts. With a little work, this will be a very nice car.
