This 1958 Nash Metropolitan will make a great project. The best thing about this car is the body is straight aside from a few minor bumps and scrapes. There is no rust on the body. There is minor rust on the floorboards and foot wells. The front seat needs to be recovered, but the upholstery can be had for $325 for a complete set from metpitstop.com. I'm sure other parts suppliers are competitive as well. The engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced with what ever you like. I've seen small block V8's in them, but I was planning on a Miata conversion. As far as I know the Metro is complete aside from ignition switch cylinder, back seat bottom cushion, gas cap, and side mirrors. It is my understanding that the car had only two owners before me. The previous owner had the car for 40 years all of which it spent sitting in storage. The best I can figure is the car was only on the road for a max of 12 years, maybe less. The story goes that it was taken in for engine repairs, and the owner couldn't afford the bill, so it sat until it was bought by the previous owner and then stored for 40 years.
