Vehicle Detail

Hello All, I will be adding at least 15 more photos by monday, I wanted to get the car listed and going. I will take some nice day pictures. This a 1953 Buick super riviera with the 322 V-8 nailhead motor and the twin-turbine dynoflow auto trans. The car is in good overall condition and was painted some time ago. I bought the car off of ebay in 2006 or so from minnesota. My intentions were to give it a restoration after I finished another 53 super that my pa and I were doing. My father passed away in 2010 and I will be finishing the 53 that he and I started in memory of him. I will not be able to restore this car and that is why I am selling it. The car was painted a burgandy color some time ago and it still shows well. There are places that need to be redone-the hood and the rear has some chips that need sanding and painting. I would not paint the whole car as it does not need it. The underside is in great shape, they must not use salt on the roads in MN or the original owner sprayed under it to keep it nice. I have a hoist in my shop and will gladly raise it up for anyone to inspect. The interior was also done a while back. It is in good shape, but needs touching up here and there. New capet was put in and the seats were redone. The passenger side needs some repair on the upper corner. The motor runs good and the transmission shifts smooth. The motor is very solid-no knocks, you can raise the rpm and it sounds very good. There is a slight tick on the top end, this was not present when I bought it and is most likely from sitting and not running for a while. I have been driving the car since June of this year with no problems. There is an electric fuel pump installed for better driveability, this was on it when I bought the car. The previous owner installed new tires and went through the knee-action shocks and te brakes. It rides very nice down the road and stops straight. The glass is usable with some cleaning. The windshield has a chip in it and the driver side glass will need to be replaced. It was cracked when I got it.The window regulator will also need to be replaced as it does not roll up and down very good. The chrome may clean up with a scrub pad, but I would redo the front and rear bumper. The stainless is all there and in ok shape, some will need straightening. This is a very good description of what the car is. My dad and I have purchased and sold 10-15 cars over the years on ebay. I have excellent feedback. This is the first car I am selling now that I am back, I took a break from buying and selling an now am ready to sell some of our estate cars. Please ask any questions. Thank you Robert and JodieOn Sep-28-11 at 20:42:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello all, Everyone needs to read this! I put the car up on my hoist last nite to take the extra photos. I want to say right away that I completely understand if the bidders retract thier bid and I will contact ebay thursday to let them know. Ok, that being said, I found that the previous owner did some repair on the driver and passenger floorboard. I did not realize that any repair had been done, I am not trying to hide anything or cover up anything on the car. I am very sorry. I took some very good photos for all to inspect. I talked with my family and we decided to include some extra items with the car to try and make up for my mistake. The floorpan as a whole is in good shape ( you will not have to put a floorpan in the car ) The previous owner installed a small piece of metal on the driver side and the passenger side above the muffler. They did a decent job of installing them. There is no road noise through the floor. Here is what what we are giving extra with the car: A rechromed front mustach bar , the chroming was 475.00 A rechromed hood bombsite set, 335.00 for all the parts that make it up. A side piece of stainless steel that goes on the driver door, ( the one on the car is dented) These parts were "show chromed" by badger plating in Milwaukee, WI. If anyone is wondering, I am restoring a 53 super that my pa and I started and these parts I am giving with the car were for the 53 in restoration now. I am trying to make this right, but I would 100% understand if there are bid retractions. If you want to retract your bid I will do whatever you need me to right away. This car is absolutely not a rot box. I took close up pics under the fenders and quarters and other than the repair that was done the underside is very solid. If you look close undernieth everything looks really decent. I did not spray or wipe anything off or spray that heavy undercoating that parts stores sell. I want all to see exactly what it is. Again, I am sorry for this, My dad and I have bought and sold a good number of cars off of ebay in the past and have never had any bad transactions or feedback. There is also some paperwork(ads and literature) that go with the car, owner manual also. I am now going to download the pics. Thank you again Robert and Jodie Kirmse I almost forgot--here is my cell number, please call me between 4pm-10pm central time. I will answer any questions and welcome talking with anyone. Thanks 1-262-247-5633 Robert On Sep-28-11 at 22:00:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello again all. I finally got the pics up. The chrome bombsite and mustach bar are beautiful. The chromer did an excellent job on them and the pics do not do them justce. I am going to ask Whoever buys the car if I could possibly get the old mustach bar and bombsite back as I will be short these pieces. ( I will pay for the shipping or I could install the new pieces on the car for them). I can only ask this, if the buyer does not want to do this I understand. The bombsite is in 4 parts-We had to take it apart for proper chroming. I set it together for the photo. Thank you again and please call me with any questions, If you want to call instead of asking the question on ebay that would be great, I think When buying or selling a car on ebay it is always better to talk with the person over the phone if possible. I understand that some folks don't like to do that , and thats ok, to each their own. Thanks again Robert 1-262-247-5633 4-10pm. If I do not answer, don't worry, I will call you back asap. thanksOn Sep-29-11 at 19:34:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello, Here is my cell phone number for anyone who wishes to call me.
