Vehicle Detail
This is a 1970 VW Squareback Wagon , Otherwise known as a TYPE III. It is in original color orange, (Clemintine). It has an original black interior that is in good shape for the year . The 2 front seats have rips on the outside upper corners, the back seat is in great shape, the door & rear panels are great. The carpet has been removed because it was in bad shape. I haven't replaced it yet. I was gonna POR15 the floors first but, haven't because I have been using the car all summer. The car has a rare & optional Full Automatic transaxle. You put it in drive and go ! Shifts great . Not like a beetles autostick where you still had to shift but, there was no clutch. We have put around 1800 miles on her this summer. In the spring it got a top end rebuild. I put a big bore kit on it (1640) rebuilt the heads and converted over to Dual Empi ICT Carbs. The factory Fuel injection was giving me to much trouble. I have all the factory pieces that were removed. All the wiring is still present also. I have also replaced a bunch of other parts to include= Electric fuel pump, cap , rotor, wires, plugs , points , condensor, fuel filter, new rear wheel cylinders, shoes , rebuilt front calipers & pads, All 4 tie rod ends, Tires, Original vintage old school CENTERLINE wheels. I have the original wheels also . ( I can sell the car for less without the centerlines). Also has a Nice Vintage Roof Rack that is going with the car . Has a spare tire. The original bumpers come with it. They are straight but, the chrome isn't that great. Right now it kind of has that Volksrod , Hood ride, Rat rod look going on . Structurally it is a solid car . The floors & channels are very solid. All the suspention mount points are solid, Jack points are great ! Can still lift the whole side of the car from the jack points. There are a few minor areas on the lower outter rockers, Inside front wheel well area & front apron. It was in a little fender bender a few weeks ago. An old guy backed into it in a parking lot. Gives it character ! Some worn spots in the paint , other little scratches & chips here and there but , very presentable. You can roll it like it is or Restore it ! Either way , you have a great running solid car . It is lowered in the front by adjusting the front beam. Unlike beetles & buses , type III front ends are adjustable. The rear was re - indexed on the splines. I have had this car loaded full inside and on the rack with no problems!!! Great attention getter, most people have seen the bugs & buses but, not these. That is all I hear from people everywhere. I also have another squareback (66) Car is almost complete. Can sell it to the winner cheap , you can restore it or use for parts..... This car is registered and on the road. Can be delivered up to 300 miles away for $1.50 a mile. This car is also listed locally , so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Also , a NO RESERVE AUCTION , BID TO WIN !!!!!!!! THANKS
