Up for auction is a solid 1973 MGB GT. I purchased this car from a guy who had it stored for many years. The car ran but needed some work. The body/paint appears to be original. The paint is old and there is some bubbling but solid on one rocker. The underside,floors and trunk are solid. I don't see any bondo. I did the following to make the car a driver......New fuel pump,fuel tank sending unit,total rebuild on rear brakes,rebuilt master clutch cylinder,new slave cylinder,new Weber Carb,rebuilt head,rebuilt distributor,new wires,cap,rotor,plugs,changed trans fluid ,coolant and oil. Driver seat has new foam and diaphragm and new replacement seat covers. I have the head rests. The seat covers I bought did not come with the head rest slots.All lights and gauges work. Engine shows GOOD oil pressure. I have no knowledge of any clutch replacement or engine rebuild. They both work very well. The car could probably use A/ARM bushings.The steering is alittle stiff and wavy but NO vibrations at 55 MPH. This is a GOOD solid car that still needs some TLC. I have been driving it to work the last couple of weeks. I want to get a Spitfire and I already have a 1977 MGB. Thanks, Jim Phone- 309-269-1804 On Sep-21-11 at 06:34:36 PDT, seller added the following information: THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK. THE SPEAKERS POP WHEN TURNED ON BUT SOUND. IT LOOKS LIKE THE ANTENNA IS BROKE. ALSO THIS MG HAS THE USUAL DRIPS UNDERNEATH AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN. I NOTICED ONE OF THE STEERING BOOTS IS TORN.On Sep-22-11 at 12:54:59 PDT, seller added the following information: OIL PRESSURE READS 60 COLD AND 75 WITH REV COLD. THEY READ THE SAME AFTER ENGINE IS WARM. COMPRESSION TEST READS: #1-135 #2-137 #3-133 #4-133. THIS WAS DONE WHEN THE ENGINE WAS WARM IF IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE?? THANKS , JIM.
