Vehicle Detail
Up for bids is a rare, collectible 1956 Ford F100 pickup, with the "big curved" window. 1956 was the last year this rare design feature was in production; not only is it rare, it's even rarer for a vehicle to still have the original glass in such excellent shape. The engine is a Chevy 427 Big Block from a 1968-69 Corvette which has been upgraded with an Edelbrock matched intake manifold & carburetor induction system and an AGI " High Energy Ignition" distributor. The transmission is a Turbo HydraMatic 400 and the shifter has been adapted to look perfectly stock , like the original manual shift. Also from the Corvette are Rallye wheels with Kelly Charger tires; the front tires at 215-70-15, the rears are 255-70-15 which give a comfortable and compliant ride with excellent wet and dry traction. Also included are the glasspack exhausts, currently not installed. Also a rarity: Original paint. (There has been some slight touching up to the hood and one door.) If you're reading this far down, then you clearly know what you're looking at, and will know how rare this is. The bed of the truck is lined with hardwood and is in great shape, with only a refinishing (and a some TINY crack filling) needed to bring it up to councours condition. The interior was recently refurbished by a specialist in Pasadena, California in period-correct NOS fabric and piping, and the panels on doors were upgraded to leather. Truck is located in Boone, NC. Also tried to take a picture of the VIN on the block but I could hardly see it and can not make out any of the numbers, sorry! There is a picture of the sticker in the glove box and the door panel.
