58 Corvette, Nut & Bolt Restoration - Starting with a new numbered frame with stainless steel fuel and brake lines, front disc brakes with equalizer valve, wide white wall radial tires, new gas tank and sender, quick-steer steering arm, new suspension and steering. The engine block is a Target, high nickel content, 4-bolt mains block with re-worked water jackets and ports and was professionally built with the best of components and speed equipment available. Dart Sportsman 2" big valve heads were used with Manley Race Master valves and competition springs, solid lifters and 2 1/2 aluminized exhausts produce just under 400 H.P. Breakerless Ignition with a tach-drive distributor was used and the engine is E.C.M. controlled with the controller hidden in the passenger kick panel The transmission and rear end had complete rebuilds with all new bearings, bushings and gears where necessary. Spring shackles and springs are new, as well as king pins, complete tie rod assembly and steering box. Cooling is by aluminum rad and electric fan. Body received new chrome and the stainless parts were polished and then flash plated. The car received new door locks, hinges, rubber bumpers, glass, tail lights, gas cover, filler tube, heater box and heat exchanger, sound deadening pads, carpet and firewall underlay. Instruments, clock and radio were rebuilt and calibrated by Dyson Instruments in Texas. Body was hand sanded between coats at a cost of $9000 The finish is silver/blue with turquoise interior. - There might be a fiew tiny sand or stone marks as it was never trailored. Every component and assembly in this car has been either replaced with new or rebuilt. If you are looking for a car that looks stock, but performs better than new and a car that you never have to worry about starting when it's hot, then this might be the car for you. I would prefer that the buyer see the car prior to purchasing to avoid any disagreements. I reserve the right to cancel this auction as the car is advertised locally. The car is being sold because it isn't driven enough (only driven once or twice a summer) and I think I need a change.
