Vehicle Detail
1938 Chevrolet 1.5 Ton Truck You are bidding on a 1938 1.5 Ton Truck body. This truck is disassembled and includes the body parts only. No frame, driveline or bumpers. It is located in Lees Summit Missouri. You will have to pick it up as I prefer not to ship due to all of the various parts. The body is in very good condition for the age. There is very little rust and the body panels are straight with the exception of the roof of the cab. I have included pictures so you can see just how much or little effort would be involved in making the cab roof straight. I purchased this truck because of the clean condition of the body. It is hard to find them in this condition, especially the hood, fenders and doors. I have all of the interior panels including floor panels – no seats. So if you know these old steel trucks then you know I have every steel interior part of the cab which is just about everything. I have stored the panels inside for protection from weather. The fenders have been cut as I was setting it up to widen the front by 1 inch on each side for a stock parallel frame truck. I have also cut the dash panel – see pictures – such that I could add a new steel face to accept newer style gauges. These trucks used thick enough metal that you can add 14 and 16 gauge metal panels with a Mig Welder easily. There are just a few small metal cracks typically found on these trucks. You will find a couple in the running boards and fender. Head Light buckets and stands are in great shape with no rust. Grill has a little damage and weld at the crank hole but not bad. This truck is rather clean for its age but keep in mind that it was a work truck on a farm so there are naturally a few dents and dings. I wanted this truck because the metal is in great condition allowing for an easy and solid resto into a neat work truck that I was going to set on a 1960 five ton truck frame. Medical bills have changed this plan for the near future so I thought I would let someone else have fun with it. Ask questions if I have left something out. Bill of Sale Only Thank you for looking.
