Vehicle Detail

I am reluctantly selling my 1979 Ford F250 4x4 Crew Cab. I bought this truck as a project and simply don't have the time to rebuild it. Specs: Extremely rare 1979 Ford F250 Crew Cab, 460ci V8, 4x4, Automatic, Shortbox No eat-through rust at all, quite a bit of surface oxidation though color is Dark Brown Metallic and Tan Body is in good shape for its age, as I said, no rust anywhere. Drip rails and floor pan are excellent. There is some damage to the bed corners as seen in the photos. Glass is all good except for the windshield which is cracked. Has almost all of the trim, less two short pieces on the passenger side Engine runs great (again, for its age) I was told by the farmer I bought it from that it had been rebuilt about 80K miles ago but I cannot confirm that. Fires off immediately every time. The truck had sat for about 6 years when I bought it, didn't run and looked like it had a garden growing under the hood. I pulled it home on a trailer and cleaned it up, and replaced the front cover, new timing set, new water pump, new power steering pump, new oil pump, new distributor, new brake booster, had the 4BBL carburetor professionally rebuilt, new oversized radiator, one new exhaust manifold, and new alternator. Cleaned the dual fuel tanks out and installed a new valve, replaced all of the lights, repaired wiring, new brakes up front, put gas and new battery in it and fired it up. Like I mentioned, it runs great although I probably wouldn't hop in it and drive cross country. I drive it on the weekends around town just because it's a blast to drive and I get alot of looks and comments on it. It does need the exhaust system (pipes and mufflers) replaced. It currently has OLD glass packs, that are really loud and leak. The transmission shifts beautifully and doesn't leak a drip. Transfer case works and has some "dampness" but no drips, rear and front end are great, driveline in general is great. It has a new power steering pump but the steering gear box does leak and needs rebuilt or replaced. I keep fluid in it about once a month and you can steer it with one finger. Interior is okay but not great. Seats are in pretty good condition (no tears) but is stained. Carpet is gone. So in a nutshell the truck is not a daily driver, but is an excellent, excellent candidate for a project. These are ultra-rare and very hard to find. I have the truck listed locally as well and reserve the right to withdraw the listing at any time. The mileage listed is also beyond the mechanical limits of the odometer, so actual mileage is unknown. Please DO NOT bid on this truck if you do not fully intend on following through. I will report any B.S. to ebay IMMEDIATELY. On Sep-14-11 at 14:45:41 PDT, seller added the following information:The air conditioner compressor I am told has been rebuilt but the system needs charging. I cannot verify its operating status, however,On Sep-19-11 at 16:23:38 PDT, seller added the following information: At the request of several bidders I have added photos of the inside bottom panel of all 4 doors, frame, and cab mounts. Light surface rust inside on both front doors as seen in photos. Again, no eat-through rust at all. Rear doors have no surface rust. Cab mounts frame have slight sandable surface rust. Drip rails are rust free.
