I love this car, but after 10 years I'm ready to move on. I've done most of the work myself, with the help of my capable neighbor, who happens to be a master mechanic. I got the car with 38,225 miles. Over the years I've rebuilt the brakes, had her painted, re-did the interior, 4 new tires, new convertible top, and a lot of other details. Upgrades include an electronic ignition system, Weber DGV Carburetor, upgraded alternator, stereo. She's got some rust, and would benefit from a garage in winter. For a little british car, there's a lot of interior room - more room than my mom's miata. This is a good car for someone who just wants to drive her for a few years, doing occasional maintenance. If you are looking to restore a car, I can give you the original carb, alternator etc, but she's better and more reliable without the original parts. Every upgrade was geared toward reliability, not performance. This is a 33 year old car, so even if it were perfect, it might still break. You should have some mechanical aptitude, and be a more mature driver - this is not a car for kids (safety equipment is non-existent). A capable driver who has some skills with a stick shift will really enjoy sailing along twisty back roads with the top down, and the radio on.
