Vehicle Detail

This is a rare, 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Series 95, "Ramp-side", Pick-up. This pick-up has both the rear tailgate and the side tailgate ("ramp-side") that drops to the ground for easy access from the side. This truck is easy to steer and fun to drive. It is really a black beauty on 4 wheels! It's straight as an arrow. They do not come any nicer than this icon of American automobile history. This pick-up is powered by the air-cooled (original shroud intact with new rubber seals), 6 cylinder, pancake style engine with dual carburators (rebuilt), original ignition (new points, rotor), and 4 speed manual transaxle and clutch performs as new. Engine starts right up and runs perfectly with no smoke or noise. Brakes work fine, headlights and all factory original accessories work as well- even the heater works! This vehicle has been thoroughly looked over by my mechanic and has been given a clean bill of health to drive home if you like. The mileage indicated in description (63774) is listed "exempt" on title. This vehicle is being sold as-is (it is 50 years old). Please email me if you have any questions or concerns that I haven't answered before bidding. The pick-up interior is silver with a red vinyl bench seat and red carpet (see pics). It has no body damage inside or out; paint and all body panels are in excellent condition, with only a few minor chips (notable one on front center drip rail- see picture). The side and rear windows are tinted (passenger side window has a 4" circular crack in lower rear corner -see picture). I bought this pick-up from a collector in Jan, 2008 with a California title. I've kept it garaged and loved ever since while doing a little detail work to bring it up to what she is today. Please examine all the pictures. The tires (P195-75-R14) have at least 80% tread remaining. The chrome wheels are not original. The custom bed-side rails pictured are also included. I have in excess of $25,000 invested in this vehicle which is well beyond my reserve price! I'm only selling this because I just purchased a motor home and need some traveling money! *Please, only serious inquiries and biders. If you have zero or recent negative feedback, please email me first before bidding or I may remove your bid. Buyer is responsible for transportation costs and all shipping arrangements. I will do whatever I can on my end to make this transaction go as smoothley as possible. $1000 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close, remainder due within 5 business days of close of auction. I accept Cashier's check, wire-transfer or paypal. Please email me if you need any more pictures or questions answered prior to bidding. Thanks for your interest; and good luck on your winning bid, and God bless.
