Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 You are bidding on a 1966 Ford Mustang. This beautiful dark blue 2 door coupe has been almost completely restored but the need to pay some outstanding college tuition bills for my son plus his lack of interest in it has put her on the auction block. I know there is no way to get what I have invested in this cute little car but that will be to the new owner’s advantage. Own a CLASSIC and turn heads EVERYWHERE you go!!!! The speedometer reads 15800 but you have to assume it has turned over once due to its age thus it shows the “speedometer exceeds limitations” on the title. I purchased the vehicle in 2004 locally and since then have had most of the sheet metal replaced (floor pans, new doors, and rear quarter panels to name a few metal pieces). Other restoration items included a new headliner, dash pad, door panels, windshield, all the weather strip, carburetor, starter, heater core, battery, tires (including spare), front brakes converted to disc ($1200.00), chrome front and rear bumpers, fuel sending unit, blower motor, metal protection plate behind the rear seat, plus all items were put on the vehicle after it was soda blasted for the best restoration results. The engine rebuild (Cornett Machine in Somerset, KY) at cost of 1900.00 plus the C4 automatic transmission was rebuilt along with the converter at cost of 475.00 (Cope’s Transmission in Berea, KY). It has only had 2000 miles put on it since purchased in 2004 and less than 300 since engine/transmission rebuild. It has been driven twice in the past year—the half tank of gasoline is over a year old and the car will need a carburetor adjustment/fuel cleaner ran through it to get it road worthy—it idles well but I suspect some varnish has accumulated in the jets making it not want to run when placed in gear without some gas pedal beyond the idle. It will have to be towed/car dolly due to this and the fact it doesn’t have insurance/plates on it currently. I have a white vinyl stripe kit that can go with the car if the new owner is interested at cost of $50 after the auction ends. The original 200 L6 cylinder engine is as strong as it was when brand new and it has the Automatic Transmission that shifts smoothly and is perfect for those who hesitate at looking at standard shift vehicles. If you have any questions please ask and if you want more specific photos taken--be sure to provide me with an email address so I can send them to you. My reserve is much less than the majority of classic Mustangs here on eBay as I need to sell and the vehicle will need to be removed from my property within 10 days of auction close unless other arrangements are made prior to the end of the auction. When I listed this vehicle I have tried to be very specific, but I can't get everything. If you have any questions PLEASE ask them BEFORE you bid. Send me your email and specific photo requests and I will get them to you as soon as I can but note that I only check email once a day usually in the late evenings. The only thing I would redo on the car is alignment of the driver door (fellow doing the body work didn’t align the body lines as well as I would have preferred), a couple pieces of interior trim need to be painted/installed (it is inside the car), there is no radio and the rear seat is torn—I note these things here so there is no surprises when purchasing the car. Deposit is $200 and due within 24 hours of close of auction via PAYPAL Only. Balance due in CASH Only within 10 days total. Car can be inspected before auction ends by appointment. The car is located in Richmond, KY at my son’s home. Do not plan to be the winner for the chance to look. I do not have time for games and those that play them. Seller reserves the right to end auction early as vehicle is listed for sale locally. PM me if you are interested in a Buy-It-Now price. AS IS WARRANTY This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty, expressed written or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ask any questions and satisfy themselves as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer’s request prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about this vehicle. All sales are final. On Sep-11-11 at 10:54:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Wipers are of the one speed type and work. All the gauges are operational as well. The photo of the trunk area doesn't show a trunk lock--i just replaced that lock with a new one and while at it replaced the door locks as well so they all work off the same key.
