Vehicle Detail

I bought the Herald in Tampa in 1999 and started a complete restore on the car in 2000. The Herald was awarded a Gold certificate at the 2003 Triumph Nationals. In 2004 I upgraded the drive train to a late model Spitfire. I have the original numbers matching 1200 stored in a dry garage if someone would want to go back to original. In 2005 I replaced the top with a Prestige custom top without the triangle side windows to eliminate the week spot in the top. The drive train is from a 1980 Spitfire with less than 40,000 miles. The engine build and installation was completed by the Roadspeed Garage in Cleveland, Georgia, along with most of the restoration work. Bart Miller is a long time builder and British car restorer. The engine was bored .20 over with a mild cam and 1/12 SU from an MGA, with a custom built collapsible larger diameter drive shaft. The additional power and the large mass drive shaft make the car very drivable. The paint color is Sebring White and along with the body is in excellent condition. Most of the trim parts were new old stock at the time of restoration. The black interior is a complete replacement by Newton of England including carpeting and door panels. The dash is Hawaiian Mahogany veneer over solid wood. Carolyn Miller completed the dash. The car comes with a custom-made tow bar that attaches to the frame and is bent around the front valence. The tow bar makes it great to get to and from shows with the family. A collection of spare parts, manuals and a car cover go with the car.
