I want to start by saying this is not a historic car. It's never been owned by a famous drag racer, just a kid from Siloam Springs, Ark, kicking butt and taking names in the '60's. Then it sat in a salvage in Westville, OK for many years, so many that when I saw the car for the first time it was so covered with thorn bushes that you couldn't tell if it was a two door or four. This is not something just stuck together for ebay. I have ran this car for two years with a group from Tulsa, OK called the Outlaw Gassers and at Mo-Kan for the H.A.M.B Drags. There is a video of it running on YouTube at the 2011 Hamb drags, search "Jim Gabel" (the willys that kicked my butt). The car has run a best of 11.95 but in this heat it runs 12.20s. The car has a 396 bored 60 with 69 model rectangle port heads. It has 13.1 compression. It has roller rockers, 638 solid lift cam, offy tunnel ram, steel crank which has been balanced. Trans is a 400 with a 4000 stall. The rear end is a 9" Ford with 4.56 gears and a 33 spline Moser spool and axles with disc brakes. The front axle is a 50's Chevy pick-up.
