Vehicle Detail

1986 Camaro IROC Z-28 LOW RESERVE!! I have decided to sell my 1986 Camaro IROC Z. I always wanted a car like this when I was in high school. Twenty years later I final did buy one, and a real special one at that! What we have here is a heavily optioned 1986 Camaro IROC Z with only 12,105 original miles!! Yes, you read right, ONLY 12,105 miles. No stories, no excuses. It is a real low mileage original IROC-Z. I bought the car from the original owner. He was a wealthy business man in New York who special ordered it from Glen Campbell Chevrolet. He ordered it with every option available in 1986. It has AC, PW, PB, PDL, disc brakes, Power hatch, ETS stereo, AND the The UBER rare overhead trip odometer with detachable light, rear louvers, power seats ETC. ETC. ETC. This one of the most highly optioned IROC I have ever seen. This is probably the lowest mileage, and highly optioned IROC on E-bay. This car was in his heated garage since in 1988. I continued the tradition and kept it in my climate controlled garage. The original owner said he always started and ran the car twice a month. I also started it monthly to keep everything lubed up and in working order. Now, if you have ever owned original low mileage cars that were classics, you know there are two types of cars, the ones started and ran monthly and the ones that just sat somewhere for years, not ran with seals, rings, gaskets just dry rotting. The later cars are prone to leaks, dry rot, seal/gasket leaks, clogged injectors, fouled plugs, fouled fuel pump/sock/sending unit rust etc etc., that make the car run like crap. Now the nice thing about my car is she was truly run monthly and she drives great, shifts great and brakes correctly. Now, like any product of GM from the 80’s there were some parts that needed replacing. From the factory they had the AC line dangerously close to the serpentine belt, which began to rub. Being the anal owner I am, I replaced it. I took the opportunity to recharge the AC. It blows ICE COLD. I also replaced the brake calipers in the rear. They brakes were a little sticky when I got it, and I would not stand for that, while I was at it, I retired the factory Goodyear tires (they were 20 years old) and put new tires on the car for safety purposes. I hated to do it, but I did not want to chance a blow out and possible damage to a special collector car like this. I also replaced the battery. Last week I went ahead and got the car state inspected (PASSED, of course) and I went ahead and flushed the transmission fluid, just in case the fluid was original to the car! The car shifts super smooth, as a low mileage car should! I love driving this car! Now let’s talk condition. The car drives and looks like a true low mileage car should. The interior is flawless. No rips, tears, no cigarette burns anywhere. No stories. T-tops do NOT leak. T-Top bags were still in the plastic and come with the car. I also have the key to the dealer installed louvers! How many people can say that?? The exterior is nice too. Although, the previous owner has touched up several imperfections with factory touch up (ah, the 80’s and the dealer touch up bottle in the hands of a teenager!). There are no dents. I did notice some slight crazing in the black portion of the paint around the “blackout” around the headlights. You would NOT notice this unless I pointed it out, but I believe in 100% disclosure on cars like these. I will gladly co-operate if you wish to hire a third party inspector. I welcome this service, if you so choose. I believe on special collector cars, it is a great idea. The car was recently detailed and hand waxed. NO BUFFER was used on the car! The rims look great, one wheel has a slight scuff on the gold portion due to shipper strapping down the car, but no big deal, just disclosing everything. All in all I rate the exterior a 9 and the interior a 9.9. The car just looks great. Oh, yeah one of the AC vent louvers is acting retarded (its missing one verticle fin), but I got it like that from the original owner. That is all I can think of and you will not be disappointed. The buyer will be very pleased. I always turn heads with this car. If you enter this in a car show, you will win. You just don’ see highly optioned cars like this with 12.1 K miles. The T-top overhead trip with detachable light option is crazy rare. I also have all kinds of original paper work from the seller. It is a real time capsule!! I have original insurance paperwork, DMV fees, receipt from 1987, Glenn Campbell hat when he bought the car and all kinds of misc papers key tags etc. This is one nice documented rare car. Now for the legal stuff....ONLY SERIOUS bidders. If you have bad feedback, don't bid, I will cancel your bid. An immediate non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due at the end of the auction , NO EXCEPTION. The balance due within 3 days, NO EXCEPTION. I would appreciate it if you just pay-pal the deposit right after the auction, it makes me feel better that you are a valid buyer and not some kid playing on dad's ebay account! :) It may be easier to just pay all at once immediately, but I will leave that up to the buyer. Those who do not comply will be reported to ebay. I like dealing with responsible ebayers! :) Good Luck and happy bidding!! Lastly I want to mention that I have been an eBay member for nearly a decade. That is a long time. I just about completed the selling of my life long collection of cars. Some were trailer queens, others were parts cars, and other rolling rust buckets, but really rare. Now I went to great trouble to max out my quota of pictures on each listing and describe the car thoroughly. Still I manage to get a couple of knuckleheads who for some reason (twice it was a language barrier Spanish vs English) just to understand what a bill of sale is on a parts car or that for 6K they think they are getting a 50K restored trailer queen. It is frustrating for me because I had a perfect feedback. The new eBay rules make it hard to fight unfair feedback. So if I get a retarded buyer, he can pretty much do what he wants and there is little I can do about it. SO please keep that in mind when reviewing my feedback. I hate it, but unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about it. So look carefully at my pictures. I bought the zoom option so you can look real good at how nice the car is. Bid with confidence that she is a really sweet car that was described in great detail. Some guy will get a great deal on a super awesome 80’s icon. I just wish I didn’t have to sell it….:( On Aug-29-11 at 18:41:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry Boys, no Buy It Now....On Sep-03-11 at 05:37:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I GOT A WEIRD QUESTION ABOUT MY CAR BEING "SHINEY" AND CONCERNS ABOUT BEING "RUSTY"!
