*** Up for Sale is a clean, perfectly running, all-original 1979 MG MIDGET with ONLY 51,000 ORIGINAL and verifiable miles showing off a rare and unique exterior color. * A TRUE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CAR with NO detectable rust anywhere. It even has the ORIGINAL BLUE CALIFORNIA TAGS which is hard to find. For those of you who do not know what Blue tags mean: It basically indicates to the buyer that the vehicle has NOT left CALIFORNIA or been registered in any other state since the 1st day of its life on the road. And since California has a nice hot and dry climate that usually means NO RUST. It has been in storage since 2002 (see pic of Tags reflecting last year registered). This MG has undergone regular service intervals throughout its entire life. The smooth seamless power of its engine is evident of that. This model is well know for its durability and is nothing short of a work-horse. WHERE CAN YOU FIND A 1979 MG MIDGET that has only traveled 51K in its lifetime? * The engine is in PERFECT SHAPE. You will be hard pressed to find one with as nice of a running engine and transmission as this one. It smoothly purrs at idle and then gives of a nice seamless growl when you put your foot down. It revs freely with no choking, sputtering or hesitation. The engine has been given a minor "tune-up" and any older hoses and wires having just been replaced with new ones. It is completely road worthy and will give you no issues. * Solid Roll over bar installed and looks great. Increases the sporty appearance and increases safety aspect of this vehicle not to mention significantly stiffens up the entire vehicle chassis. I have seen very few midgets with this option installed. * Gas mileage is great both in the city and on the freeway. YES, I drive this beauty everywhere now and as often as I can. This is absolutely a DAILY DRIVER. * ALL ORIGINAL, ALL ORIGINAL, ALL ORIGINAL MG MIDGET ! No cheap aftermarket parts. * A BRAND NEW Battery has just been installed. * This transmission shifts effortlessly with no grinding or jerking. It has NO transmission issues whatsoever. SMOOOOOOTH and quick. * These car are built like tanks, and if taken care of properly will run forever. Cosmetically this car is not perfect and has it's fair share of dings and scratches. It also could use a nice detail cleaning. Doing so will bring all the cosmetic aspects right back to life. * This car has a RARE exterior paint color which makes finding a similar one very difficult! * The color is Called: "INCA YELLOW" and was only used by MG for the 1978 and 1979 model. the paint code is: BLVC207 * Totally RUST FREE. (be sure to look at the pictures showing the door jams, where these cars are notorious to develop rust) I looked over this car and could not find any evidence of rust or pain bubbling. * Many of the rubber moldings are in like-new condition (see pictured of windshield). Most MG's that look good from far have bad rubber seals around the front windscreen area, NOT this one. * This is the ORIGINAL paint which shows some sun-fade. The new owner could either decide to keep the original paint job and just give it a nice wax and buffing (this will bring out the color dramatically) or you can opt to paint it with new paint. I would choose to keep it original, but its up to you. * Interior of car is in decent shape. The seats are good except for small 4" area where it has come apart at the seam and can easily be sewn back together for no cost at all. * WINDOWS roll up Perfectly with no issues. * Top opens and closes and locks in place Perfectly (the canvas top will need to be replaced) * The Dial lenses are crystal clear with no fogging, clouding or deterioration. * All the lights (internal and external) and signals work. High beams are powerful. Even the inside light illuminates when you open the door. * The heater works perfectly, as does the Defrost feature and internal fan. * The 3 wiper blade system works perfectly. * Even the cigarette lighter works perfectly. * The trim throughout the entire car is good shape. (near the shift lever there is wearing of the carpeting, but this is minor as a whole new carpet kit is only about $150) and carpeting could use a re-glue to secure to the floorboards. But it's all there and in fair shape considering the year of this car. * The dash has minimal detectable flaws (a single crack shown in picture). * The Horn honks with no issues. * The doors lock from inside and outside with key with no problems. * The seats move forward and backwards with minimal issues and recline as they should as well as headrests go up and down with no problems. * It stereo system work perfectly and is actually very loud. * It is just newly registered and registration has been PAID FOR by me. So California owners, you should be good to go for an entire Year. * The Lucky owner of this MG MIDGET will need nothing but a full tank of gas and wide open road to enjoy this beauty.
