TERMS AND CONDITIONS Seller: This vehicle is being sold through the Dealership of Honest Abe Autos, 1678 S 8th Street, Ste G-9, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. You are welcome to test drive or inspect the vehicle before winning the auction. However, if our location is beyond your driving range we will gladly answer your questions by e-mailing us directly through this auction. Our hours are by appointment only please. Buyer Inspections: The above description of the vehicle reflects our opinion of the vehicle based on its age and exempt mileage and your opinion may be different so we welcome and recommend a buyer's inspection on this vehicle up to twenty-four hours before the end of the auction only and Buyer is responsible for any inspection charges and fees. Please do not rely on our description of the vehicle to equal yours. A personal inspection may be better than relying on pictures to see the vehicle. We try to take good pictures and post them as over-sized but they may not show every imperfection of the vehicle. E-mail us through this web site for an appointment to do the inspection up to 24 hours hours before the auction ends and we will gladly accommodate you or a representative on your behalf. If it is inconvenient for you to inspect the vehicle in person then we will be happy to accommodate your ordering an inspection through the eBay inspection services provider. While there may be some imperfections consistent with it's age, as seen from the pictures it is a very nice sedan overall and runs excellent. Any inspection should be completed prior to 24 hours remaining in the auction please and we will gladly meet the technician for the appointment. Condition Report: There are two power windows that don't roll down which may or may not be fuse related. One is the passenger (right), front side. The other is the passenger rear (left) side. The driver's side (right) front window does work just fine. The power door locks don't work automatically but will lock manually. There is a very small, quarter-sized paint blemish on the front, right fender. There is a very small tear in the rear passenger seat that could be matched easily with Mercedes fabric (MB Tex). One of the front headlights needs a new bulb. This car has a automatic, electric sliding sunroof with pop-up that works properly. Original Purchase Receipt: We have the original window sticker of this car whereas the cost new in 1987 was $50,650. The paint color is Cabernet Red Metallic and the interior is Creme Beige Leather. Maintenance: We have lots and lots of receipts from the One Owner to show that this car has been properly maintained. At 176k miles, a new 80 amp Alternator was installed and the charging system was upgraded to 80 amps. The Air Conditioning system has received a complete overhaul with a new AC Compressor, a Receiver/Dryer, a Fan Switch, new Freon, new O-Rings, and new Shifter Bushings. Transmission: At 190k miles, there was $3,606.65 of service done (we have the receipts) which included a minor overhaul of the transmission with a transmission kit and the replacement of all seals, clutches, including rear crank seal. Both front, lower ball joints were replaced. Also replaced were the idler arm bushings and the right tie rod assembly and the radiator. At this time, the engine head was sent out for a complete valve job with all new gaskets and seals as required. Some of the parts for this valve job included: Two lifters, 1 seal ring, 1 Chain Tensioner, 1 head gasket set, 1 valve cover set, 1 gallon antifreeze, 1 new Radiator and misc other related items. Also replaced were the main fuel filter, the pre fuel filter, a set of wiper inserts, 1 left front door striker, 2 front brake pads and 2 brake sensors. Also replaced at 109K the alternator was checked and the alternator pulley realigned. At 214k, a new remanufactured Starter was installed along with an oil change, oil filter and 3-way check valve. At 206k, two new motor mounts were installed along with a transmission mount, two new transmission cooling hoses and another cooling hose along with an oil change with filter. It appears from the receipts that the oil used in the oil changes was Pennzoil Motor Oil 15/40. At 207k, a new Serpentine Belt was installed along with a serpentine Belt Tightener and the drive belt Damper. New Tires: At 239,377 miles, the car had all new 205/65R-15 tires installed (we have the receipt) so with only 7,000 miles on the tires, they have lots of tread left. Maintenance Comments: These cars are as valuable as the maintenance history that can be documented and we have most of the receipts of the maintenance performed on this car by the One-Owner to prove that the important maintenance has been done including many more receipts for routine oil, filter and fluid changes. Our maintenance receipts which document the history of this beautiful Mercedes should be all the proof you need to know that this automobile has many, many more miles of fine service remaining. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. For Sale Locally: This vehicle is up for sale locally and we reserve the right to end this auction early if we have a local buyer. We reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time at our discretion. However, we will not cancel this auction in the last twelve hours of the auction if the reserve has been met. Bid Retractions: No bid retractions are allowed in the last 24 hours before the auction ends. Mileage: The mileage may be a little higher than stated in the ad due to daily driving or test drives. HOW AND WHEN TO PAY & PICKUP Deposit: A $500 non-refundable deposit shall be made via PayPal or money wire within 24 hours after winning before making arrangements to pick up the vehicle. If the deposit is not received within 24 hours after winning the vehicle may be made available to other potential buyers, both locally and to eBay bidders, on a first come, first serve basis. Balance Due: This transaction should be completed with balance of payment in being received by Seller within 3 days of winning the auction. For the balance due, Seller only accepts cash in person at pickup, a bank wire transaction or a cashiers check only please. PayPal or a credit card or a personal check or a money order may not be used to pay the balance due. If a cashiers check is used, then there will be a 10-day clearing period required before the car will be released for pickup which may result in delayed pickup and storage fees (see time of pickup below) . If the balance is not received within 3 days after winning the vehicle may be made available to other potential buyers, both locally and to eBay bidders, on a first come, first serve basis. Time of Pickup: The vehicle should be picked up by the buyer within 3 days after winning or a $75 per day storage fee will apply and we may cancel this sale and relist the car. Please schedule an appointment with us to pick up the car as soon as you can after paying the deposit. Shipping: The Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements (for the United States only) and details after payment has been received. TITLE, TAXES, FEES & REGISTRATION Title: The title to this Mercedes Benz 300 SDL is free and clear of any liens. The Buyer is responsible for all applicable title, taxes, state fees, registration, shipping expenses, wire fees and overnight mail expenses of this transaction. If you are a Resident of Florida we are required as a Florida Dealer to collect these fees and to make application for the permanent Title and Registration on your behalf after the sale. We will provide you with a temporary Tag and Registration during this process at no extra charge. If you are an out of state Resident then we may be required to collect sales tax for your state and if so you will receive credit in the way of a Notarized Affidavit for having paid the tax when you register the vehicle in your state. Temporary Tag and Registration: We will issue the Buyer a temporary tag at no additional charge which will provide valid registration in all states for 30 days with current driver's license and proof of insurance. Dealer Fee: There will be a dealer fee of $195 added to the final sale price of this transaction which covers document preparation, listing and vehicle prep fees. Legal: Your winning bid constitutes a legally binding contract to intend to own this vehicle. Being the highest bidder at the end of the auction means that you have purchased the car and not to just come look at the car. This is an Auction and after winning the Auction has ended you are to pay for the Vehicle and to pick up the vehicle according to the time frames as stated in these Terms and Conditions. This transaction is deemed to take place in Nassau County, Florida and all legal matters including mediation are governed by Florida law and must be executed in Nassau County, Florida.
