If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few rules regarding bidding, which follow. 2.2. A Bid Is A Legally Binding Contract. Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Please do not bid if you do not intend to, or are not financially able to, complete the purchase of the vehicle. Please have your financial arrangements in place prior to bidding. 2.3. I Don’t Allow Bidders With Negative Feedback. I do not allow bidding from bidders with negative feedback. I reserve the right to obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auction, and to cancel any and all bids at my discretion. 2.4. I May End An Auction Early. I am a licensed Florida automobile dealer, and some of my vehicles listed on ebay are concurrently offered for sale locally. You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440. 3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods. 3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction. 3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars. 3.5. Fees and Taxes. 3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions. 3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees. 3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs. 3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle 4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 4.2. Pick Up. Here’s a super nice ONE OWNER 1982 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel with a RARE 4 speed manual transmission up for sale. This is quite simply the nicest 240D I've seen since I was a kid and the 240D was new. This is a NO RESERVE auction. There’s no “Buy It Now” price. This car will be sold to the highest bidder. My philosophy is to give as thorough, accurate and frank a description of both the good and bad points as possible, and to show everything in pictures. I have included 90+ pictures of this car. If I have missed anything in pictures or in the description, or if anything is unclear, please ask before bidding. I will happily answer any questions.
The exterior of the car looks great. The blue paint was just polished, and it shines very nicely. There are almost no significant blemishes to report on the exterior. There is one reverse ding in the hood (pictured), but otherwise only a very few scratches, etc. anywhere else on the car. I looked the car up and down for rust and only found a small spot on the underside of the driver's side rear fenderwell (pictured) and a small spot on the front air dam at each corner under the bumper (also pictured). None of those spots is noticeable without crouching down and looking underneath. It is otherwise rust-free, and I don't see an evidence of prior rust repair either. It is just obvious that this classic has been well cared for all its life by someone who really liked it. Autocheck is reporting this car as a one owner car with no accident history. It shows. The car looks unbelievable.
The interior of the car is likewise in unbelievable condition. The tan MB Tex upholstery is positively like new. The only hint of wear to be found at all is a miniscule spot on the outboard bolster of the driver's seat (pictured). All of the other seats and door panels are impeccable. The center armrest is perfect. The dashboard has a few tiny cracks in it (pictured) but is overall quite good. The wood trim is glossy and nice, showing only a very few light cracks here and there. The A/C is ice cold and cools the car very effectively. This car has roll-up windows, which frankly are desirable on an older car because they will never break like power windows. I get older Mercedes all the time with broken power window regulators and switches; this car will never have those problems. All of the instruments work properly and look as clean as the day the car was built. The only other item to report in the interior is that I could not get the original factory stereo/cassette to work. Unfortunately the owners manuals for this car are not present. The car comes with the keys pictured. All in all, the interior is in very, very nice condition as you can see from the pictures.
This car has Mercedes’s very economical and extremely durable 2.4 liter four cylinder diesel engine. I was told by the seller I bought the car from that the engine was rebuilt approximately 20K miles ago. I don't have the receipts to prove it, but one look under the hood and I believe it. The engine is just incredibly clean and shiny. It looks brand new. And it fires up instantaneously and runs like new as well. This car has a rare 4 speed manual transmission. OK, the car isn't a hot rod by any means, but the manual transmission definitely makes it a little more peppy and certainly more engaging to drive. The 240D is very fuel efficient, and I'll bet the manual transmission improves fuel economy even more vs the automatic. The transmission shifts great. Finally, the matching set of Pirelli tires look almost new. This car is ready for the next quarter million miles. Drive it anywhere with confidence and incredible fuel efficiency.
Finally, if you are looking for a car to convert to run on vegetable oil (SVO / WVO), this car would be an excellent candidate. There are a number of conversion kits and a ton of support available out there for the W123 Mercedes. It is probably the most popular car to convert.

1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. 2. Bidding on the Vehicle

3. Completing the Transaction
3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440.
3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods.
3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction.
3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars.
3.5. Fees and Taxes.
3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions.
3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees.
3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect.
3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs.
3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially.
3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle
